Mike and Will have been together for a little over 7 months now. And despite being 12 years old, they both knew well that they loved each other. They had been best friends since kindergarten- and ever since 5th grade, Mike has liked Will- and vise versa. They were very young- but you are never too young to know when you love someone.
Mike will never forget the day he asked Will to be his boyfriend. It was one of the best days of his life. He was extremely nervous- worried the bowl-haired cut boy didn't like him. And worst yet- Will wasn't even into guys, and perhaps he would find it revolting.
But Mike Had to tell him how he felt. He's been feeling it for months now. And he hated keeping it to himself. So, he just hoped the best would come from this.
And that's exactly what happened. They were setting up D&D, Mike running through the things he wanted to say to ask him out. Although it didn't exactly come out as he wanted it to.
"Hey, so uh..... D-Do you like anyone?" Mike asks, glancing over at the other boy, and then looking away, busying himself with the board pieces.
"What?" Will said, a bit shocked about the question. It wasn't something he and Mike talked about a whole lot- Mike never really mentioned it, and Will never asked, for the simple factor that he liked Mike, and he defiantly couldn't talk about his crush on the other boy with him.
Will felt his cheeks heat up a little, and he shook his head, putting the pawns on the board. "I-I'm not sure." He shrugged, not saying much of a response for the question.
Mike nods, taking a deep breath. "I do." He admitted to him, looking over at the other.
Will had felt his heart break in that moment, as those words left the black haired boys mouth. He wondered who it was- who the lucky girl was that Mike had a crush on. Oh, what Will wouldn't give for Mike to like him too. But he couldn't expect a straight guy to like a boy.
"Oh.. Who is she?" He asks, avoiding eye contact.
"Well... They're in pretty much all the same classes as me. and we've been friends since kindergarten- which is a long time. My age. And... he is my best friend." Mike admitted aloud for the first time. his heart thumping. Thinking that this was it- Will wasn't going to feel the same, that he would be disgusted by the other male, that he was potentially going to loose his best friend.
Will felt his heart flutter and skip a beat. He and Mike had been friends since kindergarten. He and Mike had all their classes together. They were the same age, and Will was a he. He looked over at Mike, who had his head down, fiddling with his hands a bit nervously.
"You know... I sort of lied. I do like someone." Will started, and Mike looked up at him. "He's my best friend. But lately I've wanted to be more than that. I've known him since the first day of kindergarten. We hang out a lot.." He said slowly, and he watched Mike's face brighten.
But how could he not? The boy he has only dreamed of being with, had revealed that he too had feelings for the other. That was literally the best news Mike could ever get. He wasn't able to do anything to stop the smile that had spread across his face.
"Well then..do you want to be my boyfriend..?" He asks, his face a light blushing pink.
Will's face was a much darker red compared to Mikes's. Will too broke out into a grin, nodding his head.
"I would love to."
And after a sweet, gentle peck on the lips, the two begin playing the game, both ecstatic about them both agreeing to be with each other. They were both so happy, all smiles and laughs for the rest of the night. Will couldn't believe after these several months, he was asked to be Mike's boyfriend- it was like something he would see in a movie. Not something real life. And mike was happy his friend had the same feelings, and that they could be together now.
But all good things have to come to an end at some point.
