What is love?
I screamed to the breeze as it caressed my fear;
But it sang a melody, I failed to decipher.
As it soothed my soul to a peaceful slumber.
What is love?
I asked the blooms in the sunset gardens.
It smiled a soulful smile but quite saddens.
As the smile so sweet, it touches even the maddens.
What is love?
I shouted to the brightest moon of the darkest night;
It gloriously danced and trailed my light.
As I wondered into the fields under its sight.
What is love?
I whispered to the stars with tearful eyes.
It gazed at me - I saw where promise lies.
As I wiped my tears, I could see ahead miles.
The wind sang a song that filled my heart.
The flowers made me smile and showed me the path.
The moon shed me a light to brighten the dark.
The stars gave me a dream within the spark.
What is love?
A hope, a dream I followed.
A smile and a cheer I embraced.
A love I held dear to me as I loved.
