It had been 2days since the party‚ and I was still busy sending the photos belonging to guests that night. Some were group photos and some were personal. Some people had paid half of the money already‚ and would balance up after I send them their photos. Just then‚ my phone vibrated‚ and I picked it up to see who messaged me.
It was a message from Blake‚
Thanks for the attending the party. The only fun I had was when the four of us were alone in my room. How’s your grandma‚ she’s like a cool granny or something. LOL‚ I just wanted to send you the selfies we all took at the party. Chat me when you’re free so we can all go grab a bite or something‚ send our regards to your better twin.
Jules looked through the pictures and instantly sent them to his twin sister.
I finally finished working and thought I should have a little break. Julie wasn’t home‚ she had to go get some materials requested by some of her female clients‚ at the city market. Grandma too was at work. It was a weekend‚ so she doesn’t leave for work until 10:30am.
I had the house to myself‚ which I thought would be fun; but honesty‚ it wasn’t. There wasn’t anything thing interesting going on TV‚ and my laundry was already done.
Gosh I needed something to do with my hands especially. Just then Blake phoned me and told me to switch on the news.
“There was a plane crash” he said‚ and immediately I tuned into channel 8 news.
“Welcome to news at 1‚ if you’re just tuning in; this is Channel 8 news where we keep you updated on the current events around the world. Politics‚ Agriculture‚ Weather reports‚ Sports‚ Music and entertainment‚ I am Abby Owens and I’ll be your news anchor at this hour.” The news broadcaster said before she paused‚ then continued after a few seconds. “Tragedy hits the Northern Pacific Ocean once more. It was reported that a plane had crashed earlier this morning at 10:45am‚ with no survivors. It was stated that the plane’s destination was Hawaii‚ and one of the plane’s passengers was Multi-millionaire Harvey Christopher Timothy…” Just then a picture of the young man appeared on the screen and I nearly jumped out of my skin. “…together with his fiancée Barrister M. Bridget Hamilton…” and the lady’s photo appeared on the screen as well‚ and I nearly fainted.
These were the same couple I saw just few days ago. I‚ took their photo. This is sad- I told myself. I switched off the TV immediately and headed back to my room. I just didn’t want to listen any more.
An hour later my twin sister- Julie returned. She knocked on my door and walked in without me responding.
“Jules‚ did you hear…” she said taking her seat on my bed. I sat up and looked at her like I had no interest in what she wanted to say. I expected her not to go on‚ but she did. “There was a plane crash this morning‚ and it was the cute couple you photographed few days ago.” She said.
“Ahhh… stop I heard as well” I whined before falling back on my bed. I could tell she was about to speak again‚ so I immediately blocked my ears with my pillow. But what she said wasn’t what I expected‚ “Do you want to go for a walk? I can buy us ice cream‚ that’s if you’re okay with that” she said.
I let go of my pillow and sat up. “Can I have some doughnuts with it” I said
“If only you get out of bed and stop acting gloomy” she said.
I did as she told me too. The weather was dull that day. They were dark clouds in the sky‚ it had rained earlier and with the looks of it‚ it might rain again later.  I insisted we take our umbrellas just in case. Julie and I walked to the city library to just say hi to grandma‚ before we went to go get ice cream. I didn’t get my doughnuts‚ so I had some chips instead.
I had the camera I “borrowed” hung around my neck. I and Julie then decided to stop at the park. Julie was seated on a park bench‚ and I was busy taking photos of nature. Suddenly‚ I felt a pull at the bottom of my shirt. I looked down and found a set of identical twin sister’s. They both had blonde hairs and had the same eye colour- dark brown eyes.
“Pardon us sir…” one of them said softly in a British accent‚ “…I couldn’t help but notice your camera‚ so I suspected you must be a photographer. Hope you don’t mind taking a photo of my twin sister and I.”
“No problem” I said happily.
They suggested they take the photograph by the lake in front of a large Oak tree. I took their photo immediately they posed for the camera‚ then showed it them. One of them ran towards a young man‚ seating on a bench. “Uncle Bernard come see a photo of Olivia and I by the lake.”  She said running towards the young man’s direction.
“Stop shouting Sophia‚ you’re attracting attention to yourself” the second twin screamed.
I just smiled.
The young man approached me with the twin that ran towards his direction. The young man smiled and gave me a handshake. His palms were soft and warm. “Thank you fine sir…” he said with a British accent. “…What would be the cost of the photograph?” he asked.
“Oh…it’s free sir” I said. Why did I make it free? -I queried myself. I could have made some money from this guy. I looked down at the twin standing next to me and she smiled at me‚ then I smiled back.
“Thank you for your generosity sir. What do you say girls” he said looking at the twins.
“Thank you sir” they both said and the three of them took their leave.
