I stood on the balcony attached to my room. I looked down at the Hell, my home. I hear the far off screams and wails of the souls that want to leave in the Valley of the Forsaken. Below I hear the laughs of my brothers and a few other Demons. I sighed. I hate it here, I am the youngest and I am tired of hearing the screams of the poor souls. I want to breathe fresh air without smell of fire or burning flesh. I want to feel the grass between my toes and a cool breeze blow through my long black hair.

As I day dreamed I leaned down and put my elbow on the balcony and propped my head up staring out at this barren waist land.

"Alexis." A voice called in the distance like a whisper. It called again, this time closer, "Alexis!!"

I jolted up and turned around. It was my older sister, Hellen. She is the oldest out of twenty and basically like my mother.

"What do you want?" I asked in a annoyed tone. A little upset that my day dreaming was interrupted.

"Father wants you," she said.

"Again? Can no one get peace and quiet around here," I asked rhetorically.

"Darling, this is Hell. There is never peace and definitely never quiet. Now hurry up before he gets angry. He is very impatient and you know it."

"Ugh." I hate my dad. And I mean that in the most sincere way possible. I hate him even though I am his favorite. If the king of Hell can have a favorite. When I was born I killed my mother. Its incredibly hard to kill a demon. Especially one of my mother's strength but it was done. I took whatever life force she had, turning her completely into dust. Out of all twenty of us, I was the only child to do that. So my father favors me for that, displaying the power I posses, and it makes me sick. I am like some hero to them and that disgusts me. I am an abomination if being a demon wasn't already one.

I knocked on my father's chamber door." It's me father!" I yelled so he could hear me. The door opened and my father stood looking out his window.

"You know you are too polite. It doesn't look good for a demon." He finally said after a few minutes and finally turned around to look at me.

"What do you want from me?" I sighed. I know I was going to be yelled at for skipping out on looking at the New souls damned to Hell.

"I have some good news for you and some bad news for your siblings." He said.

"What could be possibly so good for me? You know very well that I hate it here."

He grinned at me. "Well my dear Alexis, despite you being too polite and friendly and the fact that you hate it here I decided that you should be my heir if anything should happen to me. Actually I am retiring so you are to be the ruler of Hell."

I shook my head and backed up. "Why me? Hellen is well qualified for the job."

"But she doesn't have your power, none of your siblings do."

"I don't want this power. I hate it here. And I definitely don't want to be the ruler of Hell."

"You have no choice."

"I have a choice and you know it. I refuse go pick from the nineteen siblings I have."

"i am not asking you. I am telling you that you have no choice. You are to be the ruler of Hell even if I have to chain you to the throne!" His voice shook the palace causing a vase to fall over and break.

"I would rather die" I could feel the anger building up like fire. My father's expression changed from anger to shock.

"What?!" I yelled at him.

"Your eyes are on fire" he whispered. He wasn't afraid he looked pleased.

He picked up a hand mirror off his desk and showed me. I saw my eyes were blazing like a forest fire but I didn't feel the heat. I gasped and turned around.

"How wonderful. I knew I made the right choice." He smiled.

"I hate you." Was all I could say and I ran to my room furious at my father and furious at myself for showing him the monster within me.
