"Uffff finally I can sleep now, maa" Avni reached home and the first thing she did was calling her mother as every kid does but receiving no answer she checks the whole house but no sight of anyone. Checking the time it was 10 pm where could be she or everyone else. She took her phone out and saw it was off she totally forget to turn it on when she was done with work. As soon as she turned her phone the notification box was about to blast. Missed calls over missed calls and countless messages and SMS from Aman and her father. "Di maa is in the hospital her sugar was too high please come to hospital" as soon as she saw this message without westing more time she took her bag and start the car speeding the car without even caring of terrific. As soon as she inter she asked the reception about Neela's room.
"General ward room Nr. 206" Without even thanking her she runs upstairs and finally find the room. As soon as she inter she was welcomed by some new people she never saw till now but right now she didn't even notice anyone but only saw Neela maa who was lying on the bed looking pale. "Maa" She called gaining her attention Neela turned around seeing Avni with her uniform and glared at Aman. "Ba.." Before she could even say anything Avni stops her by showing her hand. "Tumi Ek dam impossible maa phir se Rasgulla khayi ti" Neela kept quiet like a scared kid. "Haa yeh tum Bengali people itne Rasgulla ke dewani kyun hui yaar kuch hoja ta toh. See this your test freaking 500mg/dl do you even know what does mean you could have slipped into a coma your a diabetic patient for god sake grow up and take care of yourself par nahi apko toh heroine bana hai." She was fuming in anger but more she was shaking and shivering like anything.
None dare to stop her the reason was clear Avni hates hospital moreover she only know how she drove till the hospital has since the last 5 years since she didn't drive more. And tonight's situation was different it made it so hard that she had. "Avni beta Neela ne rasgulla nahi khaye te woh toh bass stress ke waje se hua ta" Ashish finally come foreward and put a hand on her shoulder. "Avni beta" Hearing a new voice finally Avni glanced at her surroundings seeing 2 new faces with one not-so-new face.
"Hello sorry, ap" She looks at the old lady who was in her mid 60th. "Main Bebe Neil ki grandma" Avni look at Neil who was standing near the window silently. "And woh" She points toward Shweta who was standing near the bed holding Neela's hand. "Woh Shweta Neil ki maa" She nods and mumbled a hello. As slowly time passed She was getting more and more nervous if anyone could see this Avni they would never believe she is the same girl who fly a damn plane and always happy going in her life.
As she couldn't help more she starts to play with her finger and tapping her foot fastly can't stand more the atmosphere she stands up and looks at Neela who was sleeping. "Baba I'm going out when maa gets better call me and Aman you go home it's late-night tomorrow you have exam" She didn't even wait for a answer but left the room.
Coming out of Hospital she went toward the garden eary and set on a bench taking a deep Breath. 'Kya ho raha why I'm again feeling so weird' asking herself she set there for a good half an hour getting tired she put her shose out and placing her feet on the bench hugging her knees and putting her chin on her knee she looks at the ground. "Mujhe nahi pata ta ke NY ke night itne cold hote" Looking up she saw Neil standing there with his hand in the packet. "It's Fall season mostly night is cold" Neil set beside her but with a one-hand distance.
"You should go home with your family it's late night and thanks for being there with my family". Neil look at her with cold eyes. "Aman ne bebe aur mom apne sath le gaya" He put his coat around her seeing she is Eis cold both didn't say anything further but stay in silent after half an hour. Avni turns around seeing Neil is laying on the bench with eyes closed facing the sky full of stars. "How you guys got to know about maa being in hospital"
"She invited us for dinner and after dinner.." Avni nods and become silent again. "Avni I know it's not the right time to ask this but tomorrow evening I'm leaving what's your decision" Avni looks at the sky then Neil who still had closed eyes actually all this while he was talking with closed. "I don't know I'm just confused like does puzzle with a missing piece. I just can't decide what i want. Always when i think about this thing it only makes me feel some weird things and feelings. All my life I was confident about whatever I decided but always when my life come to this point it makes me confused like anything. And I also know somewhere I'm the reason for maa's situation she is always worried about me she never shows but I not blind I can see she is trying to show herself strong after whatever happened she is now double worried about me. I really don't Neil mujhe nahi pata hai main kya karon. Ap kya karte agr ap mere jage hote" finally Neil open his eyes he didn't move but look at her. He set properly and took her hand making her look at him she was totally confused thinking what he is up to. He took her hand and placed right over her chest where her bleed pumping Organ is dancing. "Listen and do whatever this says for some mins let everyone and everything aside just think what this want." Avni closed her eyes and did what he said opening her eyes slowly she look at him who is already looking at her she didn't say anything but keep her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. "Main thaak gai hon I want to sleep" Neil said nothing but kept quiet and set there silently.
The sun slowly starts to raise and make a beautiful welcome to the earth with its beautiful colors and warmth.
Avni opens her eyes slowly and the first thing she saw was the beautiful colorful sky. She scratch her hand and was about to set properly that is when reality hit her she turn her head slowly and look up to see Neil was already up and watching her she immediately set properly. "Sorry I didn't knew how I slept so long why didn't you woke me up you might have back and shoulder pain" She kept looking here and there but not him. "You were tired and I didn't felt right to wake you up but did you sleep good" Avni nods standing up she was about to go when Ashish come
"You wake up" Avni nods and Neil smiled seeing Ashish who also smiled at him. "Okay, tum andhar jao apne maa ke pass tab tak main discharge paper ready kar ke ata hon phir ghar chalte" Avni nods and went inside.
Ashish look at Neil who was looking down. "I know it's hurt but we have to do this, this time will pass" Neil said nothing but smiled at him. "Ap Andhar jaye main discharge paper ready karta hon Un dono ko apki zaroorat hai iss waqt."
After reaching home Ashish helps Neela to settle down in the hall while Avni went to change and fresh up. "Okay, ab mujhe jana hoga evening ko flight hai" Neela look at Ashish and then Neil who come and hugged her slightly and smiled at her taking the blessing of Ashish he bid bye to them and left the house.
After changing Avni come down and look that Neela was setting on couching with Ashish who was trying to feed her some fruits but she keeps refusing. Ashish look up and smiled at her "your food is ready on the table just the way you like you didn't eat anything since yesterday night have it" Avni didn't say anything but look here and there to find someone else but there was no sight of him. She got it that Neil left so she didn't say anything and sit on her chair and start to eat silently. It was very strange that Avni keep silent for so long but Neela and Ashish didn't ask or say anything they thought it's better and also it's high time that Avni should start to think seriously and take a final decision. She finished her food and went to Neela's room bringing her Medicine. "Eat your lunch on time and Sweet for a month I'm going to sleep don't wake me for lunch".
