💦 I am a bit late for the Diwali celebration but here I am with one shot.💦
It was freezing today in Shimla, the cold seeping through the coat buttoned up to his neck. The snow was falling softly at his feet and the smoke blending with every breath of instantly cooled air as clouds rose above Arnav's head. His leg bounced, a bit jittery, restless as the call he was making went straight to voicemail for the eighth time in five hours.
It wasn't like him to miss Khushi's calls, especially not so many of them, and with this revelation, Arnav had to squeeze his eyes shut against the onslaught of emotions that snapped through his mind.
"What the f..."
Missing Khushi had never simply been an option. It had always just been a given to his mind, something that he had never questioned or fought against even when he realized he'd have to live without her forever.
"I'm going to Lukhnow and leaving you for good."
Her declaration when she had enough of his nonsense. She'd resigned herself to it immediately, the minute she'd accepted the job, but she had her reasons to carry on. Her fighting spirit and confidence were always right in her ways of being in my office. Since then she'd become just as much a part of him as the past scars that inked his heart and mind. But he won her for his life with all his heart and she became his queen.
He'd almost begged Khushi more than once to move across the world with him and she accepted to move in Shimla, but the words had needed to make a bitter home on the tip of his tongue each time when they argued after moving there.
He remembered one of his new year's eve parties, and no matter what he wanted, how deeply he loved to explore his world with her, Khushi enjoyed it for him and nothing more. He took another deep breath behind closed eyes he shoved his phone back in his pocket.
When they moved to Shimla six months ago, the dream of the expansion of AR was finally in his grasp, he'd known that having to leave Khushi in Delhi was the thing that'd slowly splinter his heart but she was so excited to move here with him. This was something he never imagined could be so easy to make her agree upon but she surprised him as always.
A whimper escaped through his lips brought him closer to a breath he was missing right now. He could smell the sweets she had been munching on all this time, a habit of hers being worried about something. She must have been thinking of him all day long. His hands caged her within his arms but wait. There was no warmth or softness jelled to him. Fear ran through him and he opened his eyes.
