First Valentine's Day

A/N: Just a short sweet Valentines Day Short. Happy Valentine's Day!

I am whipping up the chocolate chip waffle batter I've spent days perfecting, when Felix calls.

"Hey Felix, what's up?"

"I'm freaking out!"

"Uh okay what happened?" I ask carefully pouring the batter into the heart shaped waffle maker I bought for today.

"The Valentine's day gift I ordered for Lake won't be here until tomorrow! I'm so screwed" he says sounding stressed.

"So just tell her that" I said keeping an eye on my waffles.

"I can't she's been so excited over this special gift she got for me. I'm gonna feel like an asshole if I show up empty handed." He said starting to go into full panic mode.

"Okay first calm down and take a deep breath-"

"This is our first Valentine's day as a couple and I blew it"

"Same for Benji and me but-"

"I wish I were as good a boyfriend as you. I mean you spent weeks researching the best Heart Waffle Maker and reworking your pancake recipe for chocolate chip waffles."

"Benji's not a pancake person-"

"And here I am gift less"

I take the first batch of waffles out and wait for Felix to finish his rant. And start the last batch of waffles.

"Sorry rant over willing to listen to advice from my best friend" he says making me laugh.

"Okay what you need to do is run to your nearest store and get whatever leftover balloons, candy and flowers that are left over and plan a Clueless themed movie date night" I suggest.

"That's perfect Lake loves that movie and she's gonna be out with Mia today their having a girls spa day. I can ask her mom to set it up in their living room, her mom has dates tonight-"

"Dates plural?"

"Yeah Lake's mom is apparently pretty popular."

"And doesn't she still hate you?" I ask putting the finishing touches on our Valentine's day breakfast.

"We've moved up to quite disapproval, but I think she'll let me do it. Thanks for the advice Vic gotta go so much to do" he said before hanging up.

I laugh after I hang up and start setting up everything on the tray to take to Benji's room. His parents let me in before they left for work. So, I could surprise him with a homemade V-Day breakfast. I walk up the stairs carefully and knock on his door. When he opens the door he's completely surprised.

"Victor?"

"Happy Valentine's day B!" I said walking into his room and setting the tray on his bed carefully.

"You made me breakfast? How'd you get in here?" he asks with sleep still present in his voice.

"Yes, and your mom let me in before she went to work."

"You're the sweetest this must have taken so much time" he says stretching.

"It's our first Valentine's Day together I want it to be special" I said smiling at him.

He gives me that Benji smile that makes me feel all gooey inside.

"I have to go brush my teeth so I can kiss you" he says before disappearing into his bathroom.

While he does that, I run downstairs to get the roses I bought for him and his present. I make it back before he finishes. When he comes back out his face lights up with more surprise.

"Okay you're officially the best boyfriend ever" he says taking the roses and kissing me.

Then he kisses me again and everything gets fuzzy before the crinkling sound of the roses brings us back to reality. We both laugh and Benji finds an empty paint can to stick his roses in.

"I've never gotten roses before or any flower actually. Thanks V" he says smiling.

"You deserve way more than roses but presents after we eat." I say sitting on his bed.

"Good idea" he says sitting across from me.

We eat in comfortable silence smiling at each other every time we make eye contact.

"You are a culinary genius" Benji says licking his fingers.

"I just changed my pancake recipe for waffles. It wasn't that hard" I said blushing.

"You also carved out time for us today which is beyond sweet" he says wiping his mouth.

I sigh and lean back, Benji has to work through the night and afternoon. And my parents want us to have a family Valentines day dinner. So, we're both gonna be busy tonight.

"It's our first Valentine's day together we had to do something together. And since we're done eating-"

"Gift time?"

"Gift time" I agree.

"Okay me first because you already did all of this" he says gesturing to the flowers and breakfast.

"Fair enough" I say.

He pulls out a cute little box and hands it to me, when I open it there is a small square picture of us from his birthday. It's one of my favorite pictures of us.

"It's for your wallet, flip it over" he says biting his lip.

When I do there's an engravement on it that reads:

'To the guy who always lets me be me and who made me believe in birthday's again. Happy Valentine's Day Babe. Love Benji'

"I love it" I said holding it to my chest.

"Really?" he asks.

"Yeah, I hope you like mine" I said pulling out a box about the same size of the one he gave me.

I can't help but feel nervous as he opens his gift. As soon as I saw it, I knew it'd be perfect for him. He pulls out the little leather case/keychain with his initials on it and turns it over. When he finds the button on the back, he opens it and shakes out the two copper guitar picks.

"I pick you" he reads the first one and smiles.

"Yeah I couldn't pass that up on that one. The second one is more personal" I promise.

He laughs before reading the other one "call me maybe"

"Well it is our song" I say slipping his present into my wallet.

"This is perfect Vic I love it" he says leaning over and kissing me.

"I'm glad you like it" I say in between kisses. "Uh do we have time for this?"

"I have an hour or so before I have get ready for work" he says moving the breakfast tray to his side table.

"Well you don't have to tell me twice" I said kissing him again.
