haechan:
hi mark :)

mark stares at his phone, his heart racing out of his chest. he couldn't help but smile when he saw the smiley face that haechan put after saying hi. it was just cute to him. he wondered if haechan was a bubbly happy go lucky person. what was he like out of their sessions. was he fun? was he loud or shy and quiet? did he have many friends? mark's mind started to wonder and made him grow more curious. all because of a smiley face....a stupid smiley face that doesn't really mean anything. maybe haechan was just trying to be nice or friendly.

he wanted to respond, but he didn't even know what to respond. he didn't want to ask his friends for advice because they'd probably tell him to have a flirty comeback. mark was too much of a panicked gay for that. not to mention he was also very socially awkward, even through text. so there he was, spending about 10 minutes brushing his fingers on his keyboard figuring out what to respond. should he even respond?

"what's on your mind mork?" johnny asks, his legs folded with his elbows propped up on the pillow that lied on his lap.

"nothing." mark lies, but of course his face tells it all for him.

"did he text back?" taeyong chimes in.

"yes..." mark says, looking down at his fingers as he fiddled them.

"what did he say?"

"he said hey."

taeyong peeks over at mark's phone and nudges him. "with a smiley face."

"so?"

"that's cute."

"that's just him being friendly tae, it's nothing."

"what are you going to text back?" johnny asks curiously.

"i don't know, you guys are the one's that forced me to text him. i really don't have anything to say."

"just ask what he's up to. show him you're interested."

"you think?"

"yeah, it's a start."

"or you could flirt with him too." johnny adds, winking at the younger.

"no, i'll just ask what he's up to."

he sighs, here goes nothing, he thinks to himself before getting the courage to type and hit send.

mark:
what are you up to?

haechan:
reading. hbu?

mark:
just completed my history hw.
was really boring but was better
than reading romeo & juliet so.

haechan:
lol, come on romeo & juliet
isn't that bad. i mean, it tops
history for me at least.

mark:
ewww how??
that just doesn't make any
sense. are you ok?

haechan:
very okay actually. i am
a reader. i love books.

mark:
ohh well what are
you reading now?

haechan:
before you rudely interrupted
me, (lol jk) i was reading chemical
hearts.

mark:
what's that?
another classic?

haechan:
no. it's more of a modern
day sad love story that ends
in heartbreak. there is even
a movie dedicated to it.
it's so good. i highly
recommend. the movie
of course, since i know
you won't read the book lol.
