mark watches as haechan opens two sugar packets with his teeth, before putting the sugar into his coffee. he grabbed the spoon, then started to stir it. he looked up at mark with a small smile, making the older look down at his own coffee.

"mark?"

"yeah?"

"why did you want to hang out with me outside of the library?"

mark looked back up at the younger confused, he furrowed his eyebrows and he was sure that his face was red. "w-why did you say yes?" mark challenges.

haechan shrugs, taking a sip of his coffee before placing it back down on the table. "it sounded like a good idea to me."

"oh." was all that left mark's lips, he kept stirring his coffee, not knowing what to say. he hated how awkward he was, it made him regret even asking haechan to hang out.

"you don't really talk much in person, i assume."

"i-i do, it's just i am kind of awkward is all."

"that's okay, would it be easier for you if i came up with something to talk about?"

mark nods eagerly, earning yet another small smile from the younger.

"do you like boys?"

mark gulps, he was definitely right about haechan being blunt. "i do, do you?"

"yes, i like boys a lot." he laughs cutely.

"good to know."

"you are awkward, but it's actually cute. i noticed how easily you blush. you must find me cute." haechan jokes.

"i do find you cute." mark admits, even though he knows haechan was just joking.

"really, how about now?" he asks while making a silly face at the older.

mark laughs and haechan stops in his tracks and stares at the boy. "w-what?"

"your laugh is hot."

"oh?"

"sorry if i am too blunt."

"you don't have to apologize."

"yeah i know, but i can tell that it always catches you by surprise."

"it does, but that's what makes you so much better. you never know what's next with you and although that makes me really nervous, i like it."

haechan smiles, before looking out of the window. "it's snowing again." he hisses.

"how are you going to get home?"

"thinking about taking an uber, how are you getting home?"

"bus."

"do you live far from here?"

"no, just a couple stops."

"do you have any friends?"

"yes, two annoying ass best friends but i love them. do you?"

"also two annoying best friends. they happen to be in a relationship as well, so i am literally a pro at third wheeling." he giggles followed by playfully rolling his eyes.

"wow, sounds painful."

"i mean you get used to it. we've also been friends since middle school, it's actually pretty refreshing to see that the two are finally together. it took me forever and a day to pair the two. just happy that they're happy you know?"

"look at haechan being a matchmaker."

"yeah and who knows maybe one day I'll use my matchmaking skills to pair  you with someone. got any crushes?" he smiles before taking a sip of his coffee.

mark tenses and gulps before also taking a sip of his coffee. he tried to play it off cool even though he knows that his demeanor was probably a dead giveaway. but nonetheless he let out a small fake giggle before nodding his head.

"a crush? me? no, no one these days have really caught my eye. besides my main focus right now is passing english so i can graduate. how about you? do you have any crushes?"

"maybe, too soon to tell. i don't like to label things right away. but i will say, he is pretty cute."

"oh, really?" mark says, trying his hardest to hide his disappointment. he couldn't really be mad anyway, haechan was entitled to crush on other people. mark just had to suck it up.

"yeah.."

"so, uh you've ever been to this cafe before?" marks asks changing the topic. he rather talk about anything else other than haechan's crush.

haechan shakes his heads. "yup, i have been here plenty of times. one of my favorite places to come for coffee. how about you?"

"i come here a lot too, it's weird i have never seen you before."

"you probably have but paid no mind to me since you didn't know me you know? we normally don't pay any mind to strangers or anything, unless they're attractive or something." haechan says, laughing softly.

"yeah but i-i think you're attractive, it's kind of odd that i didn't notice a face like yours before. seems kind of impossible."

"my face isn't all that."

mark frowns, before running his hands through his wet hair from the snow.

"what?"

"you don't like compliments?"

"i don't know how to take them."

"i like your face." mark shyly smiles and looks down.

"i love how awkward you are, it's cute."

mark plays with the mug and continues to shyly smile.

"i see we both don't know how to take compliments."

"one of the many things we have in common, besides your love for books."

"that reminds me of our bet. i am so winning this."

"no you aren't, i will read this book."

"we'll just have to see, but if i win you have to watch the movie with me."

"that's a win for me too though since i prefer movies over books." mark shrugs.

"hmm, you're right. okay so, if i win the bet you have to tell my father that you think i am cute." haechan mischievously smirks.

"what? why would i tell my teacher that i think his son is cute?! that's definitely not why he made you my tutor."

haechan just laughs and mark knew that he had to read this whole entire book, which sucked for him. but as long as he didn't have to tell his teacher that he found his son cute, he'll live. even if it was true.
