Lurking Darkness (Main Timeline)

All At Stake

You quickly run back inside and wake everyone up and bring them outside.

Yang: "Oh my God..."

Jaune: "I... can't believe that this exists."

Y/n: "Well, believe it. We need to contact anyone as soon as possible." You tell him.

Yang: "I'm almost done with the bike parts. Once I'm done, we can ride to Atlas." She runs back to the outpost to quickly finish fixing the bike. You look at Ren, who's staring at Mantle.

Ren: "We have to be quick."

Y/n: "I know." You place a hand on his shoulder.

(cont.): "We have to be fast. Else like you said, people are going to die." You clench your metal fist.

(cont.): "And I won't allow another person to get hurt under my watch." Ren nods at you before Yang pulls the bike up beside Ren. Snowflakes begin to fall, Ren catches one in his hand and it begins to melt.

(cont.): "You two hop on the bike with Yang. I'll run." You flare you Aura and adopt a running pose.

Yang: "We have to warn everyone. Jaune, you should try to get communications up with someone, anyone." Jaune nods.

Jaune: "This is an open comms broadcast to any and all military personnel. A large mass of Grimm is headed straight for Mantle. I repeat. A large mass of Grimm is headed straight for Mantle. Please anyone." Jaune repeats the message a few times. No more than a minute later, and you all see a Manta approach and hover in front of you all. The door of the Manta opens to a familiar face, and a few you wish you didn't have to see again. The people jump out as Yang slows the bike to a halt and you stand beside them.

"Great. The Ace Ops and Winter Schnee. This day just keeps getting better and better."

Yang: "Great. You guys."

Jaune: "Did you hear our message? It's right there. We need to hurry." Jaune points out the obvious river of death beside you all.

Harriet: "Where's Penny!?"

Jaune: "Are you serious right now?!
There are people in danger!"

Harriet: "There are people in danger because you kids are acting selfish and—!" The ground rumbles violently.

Y/n: "MANTLE!!" You look over and see a giant pillar of Grimm erupt from the city and begin striking the shield of Atlas. The shield breaks away and the Grimm engulf the area.

(cont.): "It broke through the shields like they weren't even there..." You see one of the shield towers fall and plummet to the ground. The shield surrounding Atlas completely shuts down.

"By the Gods..."
"This is bad. Very very bad."

Y/n: "WE HAVE TO GO! NOW!!"

Harriet: "You're coming with us." She adopts a fighting pose.

Winter: "No, no fighting. Handcuff them." She orders the Ace Ops.

Y/n: "You cannot be serious! Atlas is going to FALL if we don't help!! You think WEISS would want that?!" Winter barely reacts to your words.

Winter: "I'm doing my duty. My job, what I've sworn to do."

Y/n: "To HELL with your JOB! You're more worried about pleasing the General than helping your people!" Winter draws her blade.

Winter: "Hold your tongue Y/n." You blink and your eyes burn red.

Y/n: "I don't think you understand what I'm saying Schnee. Even if you were ordered, you can't beat me. And these cuffs? I could melt them in a second. The only reason I haven't yet is because I know we're going to Atlas. And we have to get up there. So go ahead with your weak threats, you don't scare me." You turn to Harriet. Who's tightened the cuffs more.
