Y/n met Ryan Blaney at age 5 , due to her father and his father both being nascar drivers. Ryan and her had quite the bond , they did everything together , went to the races together , shared their lunches together , even had sleep overs together well more like y/n and Erin Ryan's younger sister had them. Ryan and her were the best of friends until their last few months of high school when she finally admitted that she was going to college in a different country. " Ryan I seriously don't understand why you are so pissed off at me. You knew I wasn't going to stay around here to go to college." She looked over at him angrily , trying to pack her boxes up from her parents house. " Y/n I have the right to be pissed off at you , you lied to me. I asked you to tell me the truth twice but you kept lying to me. Why do you have to go so far away ? You know things will change between the two of us. " he looked at her and sighed , moving to sit down on her bed . " Ry , you know this has been my dream. I want to be able to see the world. I can't see the world if I stay here in the US." She walked over and sat next to him , putting her hands on his. Ryan looked over at her and shook his head " y/n I know , I know you want to see the world but I want to see it with you too. I want to be with you every step of the way because I love you . I've loved you since 8th grade. Y/n please , please don't go.. " he grabbed her face and laid his forehead against hers. " r-ryan .. please don't do this to me. " she looked at him with tears in her eyes , " I loved you since the day I met you when we were 5 Ryan. But I need to do this , with or without you .. Ryan . " she kissed his lips softly and wrapped her arms around his neck. He looked at her and wiped the tears from her eyes , " don't cry y/n , I will be here waiting. Waiting for you to come back home to me. " he kissed her back , at this moment they both knew that this was goodbye for sometime. As the months went on , Y/n and Ryan graduated in the month of May. Both families celebrated there lovely children that night , knowing the next day one would be on their way across the world and the other staying close to home. Ryan hugged the girl tightly wishing he didn't have to let go of her so soon but the announcer in the airport stated that her flight was boarding. Y/n hugged her parents , her mother crying quietly wishing her daughter would stay close to home and her father smiling proudly at her daughter for wanting to travel the world. Ryan stood there watching his first love say goodbye to her family , she walked over to him and gave him one last hug , but as well a kiss that he knew he would remember forever. " goodbye Ryan , I'll be back soon I promise." She smiled up at him and grabbed her backpack as well as her book that her brother was holding. She breathed in softly and headed towards her gate , she turned around to smile at her lovely family and Ryan. She waved at them and walked through the door to her plane. Ryan stared at her until he could no longer see her , he didn't want her to see him cry , the tears slowly came down his face . Y/n's mom hugged him tightly whispering to him that everything will be alright. The family left the airport all together making sure ryan got to his truck safely. Ryan knew that as time went on things would get easier and easier , even if she was no longer there with him , he would stay strong through it all.

a few years later .

Y/n for the last few years made some of the greatest memories of her life , she travelled all over the world , with a few of her friends that she had met over the years , her roommate who happened to also be from the US made it easier for her especially when she missed home. Even though she lost connection with her dear first love Ryan , she stayed close with his little sister Erin Blaney. Erin and Y/n were always there for each other when Y/n needed help with girly related things when they were teenagers , in which leads to present day. Y/n landed in her hometown of Charlotte North Carolina. Erin waiting happily at the gate exit waiting to see her beautiful bestfriend. Y/n noticed the bright blonde haired girl and quickly ran to her " ERIN ! " they both jumped on each other falling in the process , laughing when people around them noticed. " I can't believe your home." Erin smiled softly and helped her up. " wow I sure have missed home !! " she laughed softly and grabbed her suitcase from the luggage bay. " so how has my favorite blaney been ??" Erin smiled and answered " I finally moved in with William ! So doing pretty great !! He's the sweetest and I can't wait for you guys to meet !!" She nodded her head at Erin " I can't wait !! Also don't let me forget I have gifts to give you !! I saw this really cute thing in Japan and I had to get it for you because it reminded me of you. " she smiled at her friend and walked towards the car area. They both get into Erins Small SUV and head towards Erin and Wills nice apartment. " thank you for allowing me to stay with you guys ! Since my parents don't know I'm back home yet . " Erin nods and laughs " it's honestly know problem! Don't worry my parents are having a dinner thing tonight and they invited your parents as well as your brother and his new girlfriend. " she looked out the windshield paying attention to road " oh and by the way my brother is going to be there with um his new girlfriend." Y/n looked like she seen a ghost , and gulped softly "oh he has a girlfriend? That's nice ." She smiled . She was confused as of why Erin didn't tell her beforehand that he has a girlfriend , she knew he would of found someone after her being gone for 8 years. But for some reason when he said he would wait for her , she felt as if he betrayed her and that he never actually loved her. She sighed and tried to ignore her feelings. " okay so so we have dress up ? Because I don't have any fancy outfits.? " she laughed and Erin shook her head " no just wear something cute nothing to fancy but definitely not sweatpants ." Erin laughed " darn I wanted to wear sweatpants. Haha kidding. " she smiled softly and noticed that they were entering the parking lot to erins and wills apartment. " we're here !! " she smiled at the brunette, y/n smiled and unbuckled her seatbelt , getting out of the car grabbing her suitcase and backpack. " ill call will and see if he can come help grab your luggage. " Erin quickly FaceTimed Will asking him to come help , him being a gentleman came down quickly and helped grab y/ns things from the car " hi I'm William , William Byron ! You must be Y/n Elliott ! I've heard a lot about you ! From Erin and your brother ! "He smiled and headed up the stairs to their apartment. " here we go ! Your room is on the left down the hall ! The bathroom is right across from it. " he takes the bags and puts them in the room . " thank you William ! " she thanked him by hugging him " oh and you can call me will btw !" she walked into the bathroom and yelled " sounds good will ! " she splashed some water in her face to help wake her up. She looked into the mirror , she has changed quite a bit in the past 8 years . She definitely more tan from going to warm areas of the country and spending a lot of time in the ocean. Her face has slimmed up from being active and her body definitely has changed the most . From hiking and being active she is happy with herself. She looks like an adult and not a teenager, which makes her happy . Erin knocks on the door , " hey y/n you okay ? Will said you rushed into the bathroom pretty quickly so I'm just checking ?" Y/n sat down on the floor " I'm alright ! I'll be out in a few. " she looked down at her phone and sighed. Lilian texted her asking if she made it safely , she texted her back letting her know that she's at Erins apartment and that she's doing great. She stood back up and unlocked the door seeing Erin sitting on her bed sitting for her . " hey can we talk y/n?" She sat next to her and put her phone on the charger " yeah we can." She looked over at Erin , and listened to what she has to say " um be honest with me are you upset about ryan ? When I told you he had a girlfriend you seemed sad and I want to make sure your okay. " she shrugged her shoulders and looked down " I guess , I was hoping I still had a chance but I ruined it when I left. He was upset with me and I left him. I'm happy he moved on but then again I never moved on. I had hope that he meant what he said when he would wait for me but he didn't . It really does suck Erin but it's life. " she frowned a little but smiled and hugged her." I'll be okay E ! I promise " Erin smiled and hugged her back " well let's get ready for this dinner !  " she smiled happily and went to open her suitcase to find a simple yet perfect little white  dress. " how about this ? Is it cute enough?" She showed Erin her dress , Erin squealed happily " omg yes yes !!!!" Erin helped y/n do her hair in sweet beach curls and added a little makeup but not to much , since y/n had lots of freckles on her face from the sun and she wanted to keep it natural. Y/n helped Erin also curl her hair and applied some sweet colored eyeshadow and little bit of concealer. " perfect we both look beautiful!!" She smiled into the mirror " picture time !! " Erin grabbed her phone from the bed and took a quick picture in the mirror of the two. " definitely Instagram worthy if that's okay with you ?" Erin asked politely, y/n nodded , " make sure you tag me " Erin posted it to her Instagram, y/ns phone dings from people requesting to follow her , one name catches her eye , and that happened to be Ryan's . " ryan requested to follow me on Instagram. Should I accept it ?" She asked Erin and she nodded " why not ? He can see what he's missing." She joked . Y/n smiled and accepted his follow request , she decided to scroll through his Instagram, seeing a few photos of his girlfriend and him. " his girlfriend is pretty , what's her name ?" Erin looked up from putting her shoes on " oh her name is Gianna. She's nice but your nicer and definitely way more prettier." (( ps no hate to the boys actual girlfriends , they are all beautiful !! Just trying to make the story more interesting! ))
Y/n laughed " definitely not true but okay ." She went to grab her small purse from the door handle . " well I'm ready to go when you are ! " Erin called out to will letting them know they are getting ready to leave " hey will , y/n and I are heading out. Let me know when you leave and head over to my parents house. " will walked over to the two girls and kissed erins cheek softly " you look beautiful my love ! And I will ! Just got to make sure I have my work done." Will smiled at the two , they both head out the door and down the stairs. Erin starts her car up and they head to her parents house which was about 30 minutes away from her apartment. The driver to the house was nice and calming , sweet music was being played in the background, and the two conversed in small talk. As they pulled up Erin pointed out that everyone was already here besides Will , who was going to be running late due to work. " well here we are , I'll walk in first then I'll let them know I have a surprise then you'll walk in okay ?! " Erin smiled at her and headed to the door. Y/n was starting to get a little anxious about seeing the people she grew up with and haven't seen in 8 years. Erin nodded at y/n to come in " hi guys !! " Erin smiled at her family and y/ns family . " well I brought a surprise with me .." y/n walks through the door , everyone stops what they are doing and the first person to come up to y/n is her father " my sweet darling girl , come here." Bill her father picked y/n up off her feet in a big hug. " you look so beautiful darling. " she smiled at her dad and hugged him back " hi dad !! I missed you so much. " she kissed his cheek softly. Her mom Cindy started crying and hugged her daughter tightly. " oh my daughter, you came home oh how I have missed you." She let go so others could see her. Chase smiled at his older sister , walking up to her " wow my sister has changed." She smiled " come here weirdo " she hugged her brother and smiled happily. Y/n smiled at her family , she hugged the rest of the erins family , but she noticed Ryan staring right at her with love and passion in his eyes . Just like the old times , she laughed at Dave Blaneys jokes he was making about Erin and Will. Ryan continued to watch her with desire , desire to love her again. Just like before she left , before she left home. She was happy to be back home. Home to where she grew up , home to the boy she wanted to marry. Ryan knew that he was supposed to be with her , that he was supposed to love her but Gianna smiled over at him . Gianna was there when y/n wasn't. He couldn't hurt the girl he put his trust in , but the girl he'd been chasing his whole life finally returned home. Home to him.
