Carrie was a sweet girl. Kind with all her heart. She was beautiful. She was everything someone could dream of. She lived in a castle far far away from the Village with her parents and her big brother Tom. Carrie had gorgeous Blonde Curly hair. It always fell perfectly in her face. Carrie enjoyed being a princess but hated that she was far away from everyone and hated that she was treated differently. In October, Carrie had just turned 20. Her parents were concerned, she wasn't married or had a boyfriend.

"My darling Carrie, you're 20 now we think you should have a boyfriend at least for a future heir to the throne!" carries mum insisted.

"Prince Jack Howard is coming tomorrow. You can get talking then." Carrie's dad scowled.

Carrie never had a say in what she did. Until now.

"No." Carrie said aloud. Her parents turned around and looked at her. Carrie threw back a lock of hair from her face and stood up. "No more. I'm 20 now I think I should have a say in my own life! All you want me to do is be a princess, act gracefully, wear beautiful dresses and marry a prince! Buts that's not what I want! I'm my own woman now why won't you understand!"

Her parents were angry. Carrie's dad dragged her up the stairs and threw her down to the floor.

"now when you're in my castle you follow my rules and obey them young lady! You are grounded! I will see you tomorrow at 9 for Prince Howard's arrival! Wear something nice!" Carrie's Dad scowled. Carrie ran up to her room and locked the door. She started crying. All she wanted to do was be normal and may be go out into the village. The only time she did this was for special occasions in the village but she still never socialised. Carrie got changed into her pyjamas and sat at her desk. She looked at her baby pink wall and wondered.

*I'm 20 and still have pink walls! Happy birthday to me! My parents are angry again because I didn't do as I was told. They always are. I'll never be happy.* Carrie thought and thought of ways to try and help but nothing worked. With all the thinking she fell asleep at her desk.

~ 9am the next day ~

"CARRIE HOPE FLETCHER IF YOU ARE NOT OUT OF THESE DOORS WITHIN 20 SECONDS IM KNOCKING THE DOOR DOWN!" Carries dad scowled again.

Carrie had realised she had not gone to bed. She looked at her clock. 9:01am. She was late. She quickly got up and ran to her wardrobe. She walked in and looked at all her dresses. She quickly picked one out and slipped it on. Over her pyjamas. She took the bobbles out her hair and ran to unlock the door.

"Ready!" Carrie said. Carries dad gave her a dirty look and walked downstairs. Carrie followed. All the family went outside and waited for the Prince to arrive. He finally came after 5 minutes of waiting.

"sorry for being so late, sir. Please do forgive me. The peasant cleaning my saddle was singing and didn't finish his job in time! I told him what for though!" Prince Howard laughed.

"Mrs fletcher! Looking lovely as ever and Carrie! My haven't you grown! How old are you now?"

"Old enough to know I'm not the girl for you." Carrie said stern fully.

"Such a funny girl!" Said Carrie's Dad. "Shall we go in!"

For the rest of the day Carrie did not once smile. She did not once open her mouth to say a simple yes or please. She kept very quiet. After the Prince had gone home. Carrie and her brother went to bed, well Tom did. Carrie stayed up. She walked into her wardrobe and put some comfortable clothes on. She didn't have much time. She grabbed a ragged cloth put it around her and ran to her brothers room.

"Tom.." Carrie whispered. "What?" Tom replied. "I need you to keep quiet but can I use your window? To escape. Just don't tell mum or dad ok!"

Tom just agreed with Carrie. She thought he wouldn't know a thing because he as half a sleep probably. Carrie climbed out the window and jumped. Outstandingly she made a perfect fall onto the ground. She carefully crept around the dark castle walls until she reached the old castle gates. she had finally made it. She was finally gonna be out of her parents control. She slightly opened the gate and slipped through.
