Alex looked at his clock, 7am. He was gonna be late for work if he didn't get up. He quickly got dressed and ran downstairs in a hurry. He quickly came to a halt at the end of the stairs to remember Carrie was asleep on the sofa. He hadn't woken her. Alex peered over to see she was a nice and snug. He smiled, grabbed his bag and ran outside to work. He was only 2 minutes late. He ran passed all the pedestrians in the street almost knocking an old lady over. He was like an excited 8 year old at Christmas. Until, he stopped in the middle of the path. He realised that Carrie had been in the same clothes for 2 days straight now. He quickly turned his head to look at the town clock. 8:04am. He was already 4 minutes late. He didn't care. He quickly ran back up to the clothes shop and asked the lady for assistance.

"How may I help you dear?" she asked. Alex was almost out of breath with all the running he was doing but he managed to speak. "Can you do me a great favour? I need some clothes delivering to this address" he said writing down where he lived. "I will pay you, if I pick them out will you get them there? I'm in such a great hurry!" the lady nodded and walked with Alex up and down the aisles. Alex had guessed carries size. He went along just picking random things up for her. Finally when he got to the till he pulled his wallet out. He only had £265, but that was for his rent. "£250.81" the woman said. Alex didn't care he quickly handed the woman the money and ran out the store. He looked at the town clock again, 8:43am. He was really late. He ran and ran and ran until he reached his workplace. He quietly slid into his desk and began to work until a bellowing voice cried out. "MR DAY." Alex looked terrified. "Late again for work now are we?!" the boss cried. "Sorry, sir." Alex begged. "I was helping a girl friend out, she had no clothes you see and..." the boss laughed in Alex's face. "A girl? No clothes? That's your worst one yet Day! If you think it's funny to keep doing this then fine, but you won't be doing it here. You're FIRED." the boss pointed Alex towards the streets. Alex put his head down in shame. He walked into the streets, his head hung down in shame. He carried on walking till he saw a group of people gathering round something. He ran up and asked what was going on.

"Why don't you know? The princess has gone missing! And there's a reward!" one woman said. "I don't think she's missing, I think she ran away!" another woman cried. Everyone cleared out of the way until Alex reached the front and saw the poster:

Princess Fletcher is MISSING. If seen anywhere please tell the Kings guards immediately. Please do try and return her safely. There will be a reward.

Alex looked at the picture. His mouth opened in shock. The picture he saw in front of him, was Carrie.

There was a knock at the door. Carrie opened it.

"A package for you!" The woman said. "It's from a boy who came into my shop this morning, he was in such a rush I never got his name!" The woman handed Carrie the package. "he said it was your size, anyway love if not, come down to my shop, come and see me and I'll change them for you!" The woman said. "I must dash, Enjoy! Goodbye!" Carrie waved the woman off. She sat down, and looked at the package. She started to open it.

"clothes?" She asked herself. She wondered who would've sent her clothes. She looked through the neatly folded clothes and found out some stuff she liked. She picked out a knee-length dress with a floral pattern on it. She ran up to the bathroom and got changed. It fit her perfectly. She twirled downstairs, the dress flowing with every turn she made. She got to the bottom of the stairs when the door quickly opened and shut. It was Alex standing straight in front of her. He looked up and down at her wearing the dress he picked out. "You look.. Wow!" Alex murmured. Carrie smiled. "I know! Some boy bought them for me! I don't know who though?" Alex smiled but then remembered that she was a princess; the smile soon faded from his face. "You like the dress?" Alex said with his head down. "I would have thought you would have been into the big fancy dresses, ball gowns, expensive dresses." Carrie looked up at Alex. "What are you talking about?" Carrie asked. "Oh you know, I always thought princesses had big and expensive dresses" Alex answered. Carries face dropped.
