Carrie had been walking for hours down the long bumpy path into the village. When she had reached the beginning of the village she ran into the light and looked around with astonishment. Everywhere was still dark except one of two street lamps guiding the way. She walked down each road admiring what she could see from the limited light. All she could hear was owls hooting in the distant forest and maybe someone cough from the nearest house. She stopped at one specific house which drawed her attention. The door was open and nearly all the lights were on. She looked over into the window to see if anyone was in. She couldn't see anyone. She slightly opened the door and walked in. Carrie could hear someone singing in the kitchen she carefully walked over to the kitchen. She peeked round the door to see. Young man in his ragged pyjamas singing.
"if the darkness came tomorrow, would you keep me in your light. Where you rise I'll gladly follow just for the chance, to stand in your light!" the boy sang. He was buttering some toast. Carrie plucked up the courage to speak.
"Excuse me." Carrie said. The boy jumped around and looked at Carrie shockingly. "Um, your front door was open and I um don't have anywhere to stay. I've been walking for hours and I don't know exactly know where I am."
The boy looked at carries beautiful brown eyes which glistened in the light. Her blonde curly hair which fell against her face perfectly. The boy thought she looked stunning. Carrie had a scared look on her face.
"Oh god! Please don't be scared! You must be freezing! Go sit in front of my fire! I will come in, in a minute!" the boy explained. Carrie walked over to the fireplace in the living room. The boy walked in with a glass in his hand. He shut the front door and walked over to Carrie.
"Here. A drink. Get warm, youre freezing!" the boy said getting a blanket over her. Carrie smiled.
"Carrie." she said. "My names Carrie." the boy smiled at her name, it was beautiful like her.
"And you are?" she asked. The boy smiled again, at her kindness and how graceful she was. "Alex." he replied. "well, Alex. Thank you. You're too kind. I walked in here without asking and you are treating me too kindly." Carrie said.
"Well when a pretty lady like you walks in how can I say no! It's always nice to be kind to strangers anyway!" Alex said. Carrie giggled.
Carrie didn't notice but she was looking at the boy specifically. She was mentioning every little thing she loved about him in her head that she must have been day dreaming.
"Carrie?" Alex Asked. She finally snapped out of it. "Sorry I'm really tired." Alex awed in his head. "I'm going to sleep but I will leave you down here. I now grant you permission to use anything in my house. Feel free to do whatever." Alex said. Carrie nodded grabbing a pillow from Alex's sofa and pulling it towards her head. She closed her eyes and went to sleep.
The next morning Alex woke up and went downstairs to see Carrie was no where to be seen. He looked over to the coffee table, there was a note.
'dear Alex, thank you for letting me stay the night x you were too kind. But I feel i feel I have outstayed my welcome so I have left to go and find somewhere of my own. I am sorry for any Inconvenience I have caused x may I be sorry to everything I have done wrong x lots of love Carrie x P.S. Lovely singing x I loved it :)'
Alex was a little upset. He found someone he had fallen in love with at first sight and now she had gone. He didn't want it to bring him down too much, he wiped a tear from his eye and got up to go to work.
