"Okay tell me why there's a hole inside of a bigger hole." Arine yelled, the sound of rocks deafening.
"I don't know!" Marvin yelled back.
"You couldn't tell me earlier that they existed here?"
"How was I supposed to know we'd fall here after a fail of powers?"
Their descent was long, which meant that the hole was big in depth. Arine tried to push away the fear of getting back to the castle.
Finally, Marvin landed on the ground on his shoulder and Arine landed on top of him, rolling over away from him. They groaned and rubbed the places they had fell on.
"How do we get out of here now?" Marvin grumbled.
"I don't know. It looks like 2 amateurs can't properly teleport." Arine said bitterly.
"I'm not an amateur!" Marvin protested. "I'm just drained of energy by staying somewhere with no power source..."
The rest of his words died down when new voices aroused in the distance. Footsteps could be heard too.
"Who's there?" Marvin whispered.
"Not sure," Arine touched her watch. "But we'll find out."
Arine and Marvin stood up and followed the voices. It seemed as if there were a group of people, around 5-10.
"Who would even be here?" Arine wondered aloud.
Marvin shrugged, showing equal confusion.
They continued to wander around, until a loud, clear voice could be heard.
"The Graydown must be here," a snarky voice, which Arine knew only belonged to Harris, said. "That little Thorne girl went here, so he's here."
Arine grabbed Marvin's arm and steered him towards a nearby wall.
Marvin wriggled out of Arine's tight grasp when they hid behind a wall. "What's wrong?"
"Rose-Grayen guards." Arine growled.
"Uh...who?" Marvin wrinkled his nose.
Arine turned to him. "Rose-Grayen is my Kingdom. These are the guards who tried to stop me when I tried to find you. And among them is one I despise the most; Harris."
Arine walked closer to the guards, peering at them. She saw the crisp gray and black suits of the guards, and the blue and yellow noble suit of Harris.
"Sir, Arine Thorne is pinpointed at this part of the map, though we cannot find her there." a guard said to Harris.
"Then perhaps we haven't looked far enough," Harris said slyly. "Scatter around and find them!"
The guards separated to groups and began searching for them. Arine motioned for Marvin to hide further into the wall.
"We can't let them find us." Arine whispered angrily.
"Are they going to use me to fix the season?" Marvin asked worryingly.
"They will use you to fix the season," Arine's voice trembled. "And then they will kill you. The King wants you dead."
Marvin winced.
"And it just so happens to be that the King is my father. And Mr I'm-Horrible-Harris wants to be loyal to the King."
Marvin said nothing.
"There she is!" a guard yelled.
Arine and Marvin screamed and tried to run the other way when another guard blocked them.
