“Hey Kellin!”
Turning around at the voice, Kellin smiled when he saw who had called out to him.
“Hey Mike! Hey Alysha!" He gave the taller man a fist bump and a half hug. "Happy birthday man!”
“Happy birthday Kellin!” Kellin chuckled as he was pulled into a proper hug by Alysha.
“Thanks guys. It's good to see you.”
“So how's the party?” Mike looked around the back porch. “Has Vic got here yet?”
The smile on Kellin's face fell for just a moment, before he forced it back.
“Ah, things are going well. No one's gotten white girl wasted yet.” Kellin joked. ”And no...Vic hasn't shown up.”
Mike looked surprised. “Really? Knowing him, you'd think he'd be the first one here.”
Kellin shrugged, and looked to the ground. “Something probably just held him up. But Tony and Jaime are here. I think they're by the pool.”
They all looked over in time to see Jaime doing a running jump into a cannonball, splashing all those who had been unlucky enough to be too close to the pool's edge. His antics made the three laugh.
“Okay well I'm gonna go say hi. But I'll see you later dude.” He patted Kellin on the shoulder and the two walked off, Mike towards the pool and Alysha to the sitting area where a lot of the ladies had decided to occupy.
With a sigh Kellin grabbed himself a drink from the cooler and sat down in a chair on the back porch.
‘Is Vic even going to come?’ he thought to himself. ‘Do I even want him to come?’ He took another heavy sigh, and sipped his drink.
“Hey babe.” Kellin almost dropped his drink when arms suddenly wrapped around his shoulders and neck from behind. He didn't need to look to know who it was.
“Jeez Kate, you gave me a heart attack.” Kellin put a hand to his chest, and Kate just rolled her eyes playfully as she walked around to sit sideways in his lap.
”Just turned thirty, and you're already having heart attacks. You really are getting old.”
Kellin gasped rather dramatically at her insult. “Old?! You're older than me!”
“And?” She raised a brow daringly.
”...and nothing.” Kellin pouted at her, knowing that was not a fight he would win.
Kate chuckled at him and leaned into his chest, arms wrapping around his neck. She pressed a kiss to his lips.
“Well even if you are an old man, I still love you.”
Guilt weighed heavy on Kellin's chest as he looked at his wife's smile.
“I love you too, Kate.” ‘Just not in the way I did before.’
Her smile became a smirk as she leaned in to whisper in his ear.
“Copeland and the boys are staying with my parents for the night.” Her hands moved from around neck and went slowly down his chest. ”I have a very nice gift to give you tonight…” Kate's voice was sensual, intention obvious. The guilt got worse and Kellin couldn't help but tense up at her touch.
”O-oh, you do?” He said rather shakily.
“Mmhm,” Kate kissed his neck. “I'm sure you'll enjoy it.” Her hands moved further down.
Kellin sat up quickly when he felt her purposefully brush between his legs, almost knocking her off his lap.
“I-uh, I gotta pee!” He said rather panicked and awkward. Kate gave him a bewildered and slightly concerned look. She sat up to let him free and before she could say anything he handed her his drink and dashed off to escape into the house with a rushed “berightback-!”
