The Best Present

LUCY

Levy screeched, "Oh my god! Erza said it was beautiful but it's so much prettier than I could have ever imagined," I laughed and wiped my eyes, "I know," I looked back at Natsu who was getting slapped on the back by Gray and smiled, "It was the best birthday gift ever." Erza came over, "Don't say that just yet. You haven't even opened your presents," next thing I knew I was bombarded with gifts. They were all so amazing and wonderful. I loved my Fairy Tail family so much. Finally came the last gift. A small blue box was sat in front of me by Erza, "This one is from Natsu," he was in the chair beside me, his arm was thrown over the back and he smiled at me, "I think you'll love it."

I could feel a strangely familiar power coming from it. I opened the box and my breath hitched. I thought I'd cried a lot when Natsu proposed but it was nothing compared to the tears flowing now because in the little blue box sat Aquarius' key. I held it to my chest as I sobbed. I was full on ugly crying in front of everyone. Most were tearing up also as I clutched the key for dear life. "I knew you'd love it," Natsu said and I threw my arms around him, "Natsu! Oh my god thank you!" he rubbed my back as I sobbed into his shoulder, "I spent three months saving up money and searching for it and you a ring. When I found it I knew I'd need Erza's help so it's kind of from both of us." I hugged Erza next. Master then yelled, "Now let's get drunk!" and everyone cheered.

While everyone started drinking Natsu and I went into the back gardens to the fountain. I held the key tight in my hand before placing it in the water, "I open the gate to the water bearer, Aquarius!" a gold flash of light and then Aquarius was there. She was floating in the water and smiling at me, "So you finally found my key?" I was crying again on my knees. She leaned down and hugged me, "I missed you so much!" she squeezed me once more before leaning back and looking at Natsu, "Thank you." we rewrote our contract then she whacked me in the head, "And next time don't even think about summoning me in this nasty, old fountain got it?" I just smiled, "Got it," she smiled, "I'm glad to be working with you again, Lucy." and she was gone.

NATSU

After Aquarius left I walked up behind Lucy who was still staring at where she disappeared. I put my hand on her shoulder and looked at the sky, "The stars are really bright tonight," I said before I felt her arms wrap around my waist, "What is it?" I asked and she just sighed into me before she started to shake with sobs, "The last three months I thought you were getting tired of me. I thought you were done with me or at least as much as you could be with the mating bond." I put my arms around her and tilted her head up, "I could never get tired of you, Lucy. Why would you think that?" she wiped her eyes and stepped back, "Because you were gone with no explanation and you took Erza and Happy but you never wanted me to go. I know now why but it hurt. I didn't know if you still loved me or not." I looked into her eyes, "I'm sorry, Lucy. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just wanted to surprise you on your birthday." she smiled, "That's such a relief," I kissed her softly, "Come on. Let's go back to the party."
