A toxic adrenaline pulses through my veins. My heart? It's moving too fast to be healthy. There's this white heat spreading across my skin, and I'm not sure if it comes from my fear or my great relief – I channel it into my rage for my friends and for my teacher and tackle Tomura away from the water, gritting my teeth and forcing my cells to accelerate in enhancing my physical strength attribute.
Through two of the fingers of the hand on his face, Tomura stares up at me, pinned down to the ground by his shoulder and wrist. His one eye that's visible to me through the hand on his face dilates; I pant, my own eyes wide in focus. I don't think I've even blinked yet.
"You," he says.
"Me," I hiss through my teeth, somewhat struggling to keep him pinned now; he's much stronger than he looks. "I'm happy you didn't forget." His body twitches – I notice the hand to the arm I have pinned down twitches, too, making a scratching movement. So far, he's only scratched himself when nervous or anxious. He must be right now.
"Sasara Kurokori," he says. "You're that kid from back then."
"For someone who made such a bold comparison to each other, you certainly didn't live up to any expectations," I whisper, not wanting the others to hear me. "But you were a villain, and I was naïve."
"And yet you've become a mini hero, hm?" Tomura says, his cheekbones rising beneath his hand. Upon taking a closer look at them, I realize in horror – these hands are real. My grip momentarily falters. It's not unmistakable, either – he'd felt me loosen my grip, but he remains still. "The Interceptor is good at hiding."
"You had a month to make that second visit, but you never did. Why? And why give someone that kind of hope? That's not just villainous – it's inhumane. It's unkind."
"I was a villain," he replies, his voice unpleasant. "And you were naïve. Now, I'll kindly ask you to get off of me."
"Your Quirk doesn't work on me, Tomura Shigaraki," I remind him. His eyes narrow at me, his hidden smile remaining.
"Take your hands off of me, Sa-sa-ra," he says once more, decidedly enunciating my name. My skin crawls beneath my costume.
"Oh," I hear my Sensei say. My head snaps up in his direction, my lips parted in horror at his appearance. Despite his injuries, despite being held down by the creature, he'd forced his head up "Get... away... from him."
"I can't, Sensei," I say through tight lips. "He's ruined everything!"
"Oh!" Tomura's eye twitches in response to my teacher's shouting, and in the corner of my eye, I see the creature slam his head into the ground once more.
"No!!" I cry. I press into Tomura's shoulder harder; he winces. "Let go of him!!"
"You aren't going to listen to your teacher?" he asks. "Then I'll give you one more chance. Release me."
