THE YEAR 1980

everyday felt like a repeat button.

that button being: the snooze on his alarm clock. he'll get up, rub his eyes, then get ready to go to work just like every other adult in london.

the sound of the early day was quiet and the air seemed cold. when he wakes, reality hits like a football being thrown at his face. the second he opens his eyes, he is reminded of the life he lives outside of his warm blanket covers. and that need to sink back in bed is there, but being responsible is too important in his life. he sadly has things to do in this greyish-brown aesthetic for a reality.

his mornings mostly went along a routine that looked something like this:

7:45- wake up and take a 5 minute shower

7:50- eat breakfast

8:00- leave

8:30- work and hate life

4:30- go home, do your homeschool work, then die alone

donghyuck stood up from his bed and made his way to the bathroom. he got in the shower while humming an 80s tune. that being, a song that he didn't remember the title of.

he managed to quickly clean his body from head to toe in under 3 minutes. after that, he dried his hair with a light-green colored hair dryer. it was still a bit damp when he finished but he ignored it and continued getting ready.

the world donghyuck lived in was amazing. but for him it's different because he never got to have very many experiences with life. as a matter of fact, donghyuck dislikes his life a lot. but what he doesn't understand is that everything around him would soon be gone after a strange night. but we shouldn't get into that so soon...

he quickly dried his body with a towel and threw on work clothes. it was a simple outfit that consisted of a retro polo that had purple and yellow checkers on them. his pants were just some clean, black, jean trousers. and to finish off his work look, he put on a headband that exposed his forehead. a few hairs from his bangs fell to the front making it look messier but he didn't pay any attention to it.

and as much as he actually cared for his appearance, he still never tried to impress the people in his city. there are times where he thinks about what he could wear to express himself but he doesn't have the clothes, nor the feeling to do it in his repeated life.

yes, he managed to get stares here and there but that's only because he looks so different from everyone else. and it's not only the way he looks, it's the way he acts and sounds too. he's a peculiar boy in everyone else's eyes.

donghyuck got used to feeling different and decided to hide who he really was. it's been often that he noticed people caring too much about the norm.

and a good example is johnny, his older brother.

"donghyuck—ah! get your arse down here. breakfast is done!" the 25 year old yelled to the younger upstairs.

johnny has been the only person that has looked after donghyuck. they both grew up as foster kids and when johnny finally turned 18 he adopted the tan boy and bought this apartment with the money he saved up since he was a kid.

the older naturally lives off of the good he's done in his life. taking care of the younger was a journey that led to awkward tension that never really left the apartment. there are two sides from each person. johnny sees an arrogant boy who isn't grateful for shit, and donghyuck sees a vain arseface that only cares about what his reputation looks like.

he poured orange juice in a cup and placed it beside the ham and cheese toasty he warmed up in the microwave.

"wow, you sure are a chef." the little brother said sarcastically as he slumped down the stairs.
