as a free agent. I'd just left NJPW, and my time there couldnt have been better. I was a multi time NJPW Champion, and I'd had 3 five star matches against Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and Will Ospreay.
I was scrolling through Instagram, until I received a sudden phone call. "Hello?" I said, answering. "Hey Toby, its Hunter."
I took a second to compose myself, and realise that Triple H himself was calling me. He was probably gonna offer me a contract, so I kept my cool and replied, "Not the man I expected to hear, but what's up?"
"Word is out that you've just left NJPW, and I was calling about a potential contract. You're an amazing talent, and we'd all be eager to have you here," he told me. "Numbers are 5 years, 25 million. Sound good to you?"
"Definitely" I replied, chuckling. "Oh, and because the Royal Rumble is coming up, we were thinking if having you be a surprise entrant. Sound good?" he asked me.
"Sure," I replied, and then he asked me, "You wanna enter at a particular spot?" I thought about it for a second and said, "25. See you at the Rumble, boss." "See ya there, man. Welcome to WWE," he said, hanging up.
I put down my phone, and inhaled some more oxygen, because my brain needed to process what had just happened. I was now a WWE superstar and now a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. All kinds of different spots were running through my head, but I knew I had to stay cool and collected.
I hopped back onto Instagram, and went to Rhea Ripley's Instagram.

I looked at her for a few seconds and smiled. "Told you I'd see you again, Demi," I thought to myself. I then went to Toni's Instagram, and saw her latest upload.

Both of my oldest friends had made it to WWE, just as I said they would 20 years ago. And I knew that I was going to see them again at the Royal Rumble.
I headed over to my home gym, because I now had a good week of training ahead of me.
