Marius stood there in embarrassment, feeling his cheeks grow red as he burrowed his face into his scarf. He watched as Dominic walked solemnly back to his room, opening his mouth to speak but then hesitating before closing his mouth again. He rubbed his cheeks, trying to reenact what Dominic just did to him. He felt a smile creep onto his face as he walked back to his room.
Marius was lost, various thoughts and feelings clouded his thoughts as he found himself staring into the void, feeling his feet tingle and his fingers go numb. He was wondering why he acted so giddy, like a schoolgirl when her crush asked her out to prom. Perhaps he had too big of an ego to forgive Dominic and accept the fact that he was catching feelings - no. He still had his feelings.
"No, god I hate Dominic!" He cursed under his breath, growling as he stormed into his room, slamming the door shut and slumping against it. Why did Dominic have to make him feel this way? He hated being confused but at this point, it wasn't confusion. It was plain denial, well, that's at least what Dominic thought.
"He obviously still likes me... doesn't he?" Dominic thought to himself as he paced around his room, thinking about whether Marius recognised that he was making a move on him. Dominic thought that it was completely obvious to Marius that he... still had the slightest bit of feelings and just wanted to end this stupid competition. Why couldn't Marius just accept his feelings? Did he want Dominic to look bad and feel schadenfreude? (the German word for feeling pleasure from seeing someone fail or have unfortunate events)
Dominic slammed his fist against the wall, feeling the slight pain in his knuckles as he felt the hollow wall hit his hand. He sighed and breathed heavily, grabbing a pencil and almost breaking it as he couldn't stop thinking about Marius. He knew that Marius was oblivious - he wouldn't recognise when someone was making a move on him, especially Dominic and he was uncertain. Dominic didn't explain what made him "cheat" and what would that do to hurt Marius's huge ego anyways?
Marius shook as he felt the vibration from Dominic hitting his wall go through the floor. Dominic could get aggressive but he never took it out on anyone or anything. Something was clearly wrong.
Marius walked over to his suitcase and grabbed an oversized zip-up jacket and a pair of shorts, throwing on some socks as he made his way to Dominic's room. He hesitated before softly knocking on the door. He felt his leg start twitching and rubbed his feet together. He stared up at Dominic who answered the door, looking at the bags under his eyes and the redness of his face.
"D-Dominic?" The smaller one bit his lip as his thoughts started racing as he could feel the taller's gaze study him from top to bottom. Marius tried to look behind Dominic, to try and see his room to see if anything had gone wrong but Dominic, being as tall as he was, couldn't see anything.
Marius tried to budge his way past Dominic as Dominic tried to keep him out like he was hiding a secret. Marius put his tiny hands on Dominic's chest, trying to push him out of the way as he finally got past.
"Marius I-"
"Dominic?" He stared blankly at the small dent in the wall, cowering and backing up into the corner as Dominic approached him. Marius started flinching and once he felt his back hit the wall, he put his arms up as Dominic felt a piece inside of him break.
"Marius..." He grabbed Marius and hugged him, holding him tight and rubbing his head as Marius broke down in tears, coughing and mumbling unintelligible sentences. Dominic sighed and gave himself a mental facepalm as he knew that Marius would act as if nothing happened. He continued to squeeze and pat the smaller one's back as he felt his shoulder becoming wet from all the tears.
