My dreams came to me in a second. I saw my mother tucking me into my bed. Her warm kiss brought cheer and happy thoughts to my head. I would smile and tell her how much I loved her. My mother, as sweet as a glazed cherry said quickly, "I love you more than you will ever know." But, in the mornings when I would run down the stairs, my curly spaghetti hair blowing around, I would hear her moaning and I could picture a tear running down her cheek. It was almost as if I could feel her pain of when Daddy left us alone.

My Daddy was a very happy man. He enjoyed every part of me and Mommy, but I won't forget my fourth birthday. He gave me the best gift ever. A puppy. "Sweetie, when you look at your puppy, I want you to think of me," he said in a slightly shaky tone. "But why, Daddy? I see you everyday!" I answered back. It was like I could see his heart break at that very moment. "If Daddy leaves or if something happens to me I want you to remember me, okay?" he said, tears filling his eyes like that of a river. "Okay Daddy. I will name my puppy after you!" I said happily. "His name will be Charlie!!!" I squealed. Daddy replied, "Okay, sweetie."

After that day, I went to sleep, and woke up in the morning and Daddy was gone. My eyes filled with tears, and when I began to wail, my mother ran out from her room and said, "Honey whats wrong?" I replied, "Daddy is gone! Where is he!!?"
