Hidden Attraction

4:00PM

Classes were finally over and I am finally able to leave the classroom. I pack my things and leave the classroom. As I walk past the corridors something on the bulletin board catches my eye as I walk past it. I immediately walk back to the bulletin board to read it,

Join the language club! Runs every week in class 2B. We learn a variety of different languages, this years language: Japanese. Entries close 4:30PM today.

My eyes glow up in excitement as I read each word. Learning a new language is something I've always wanted to do but ever since moving houses I've had no time to teach myself. I feel a wave of happiness knowing I can finally do what I've always wanted here in this school. My eyes suddenly switch to panic upon reading the last sentence.

'4:30PM... Thats in a few mintues!!' I think to myself as I rush to the reception to fill out and entry form. Once i've filled it out, I rush towards the classroom and forcfully open the door. After catching my breath I ask,

"Is this the language club?"

All the members of the club raise their heads, their eyes dashing towards me bringing their attention along with them. One girl gets up from her seat and walks towards me. I'm assuming she's the leader of this club,

"Yes this is the language club, Can I help you?"The girl asks,

I hand my entry form for her to read. She lifts her head up and turns to the class,

"It seems that we have a new club member joining us," she says with a smile,

"Yang Daewon, welcome to the language club! I am Shin Domi, the leader of the club" she stretches put her hand to shake which I gladly accept.

I look around the class, scanning each student until my eyes lay on a certain student, her eyes staring into mine as we both look at each other in awe. There I saw Ria, sat in the middle of the classroom with her books out. I was schocked but felt a euphoric sensation inside me knowing she'll be here with me. I was snapped out of my daze as Domi spoke once again,

"Ria, can you help Daewon get started? He will have a lot to catch up on" She asks,

Ria stands up immediately and nods as she walks towards the cuboards taking out the textbooks I'll be needing. I walk towards her desk, sitting at the desk beside her. I put my things down and watch as she comes back with the text books in her hands which she gives to me,

"Hey!" Ria says with a smile as she sits back down on her seat,

I greeted her back with a smile,

"I didn't know you wanted to join the language club" She says, astounded by the fact,

"I didn't know you out of all people would be here" I reply while laughing, She laughs along with me,

"What made you join?" she asks, the curiosity getting the better of her,

"Well I really like listening to people speak different languages. I find it really cool and think it's a unique skill to have. Since I don't have much to do these days after school I thought it would be fun to join an after school club and when I saw that there was a language club I didn't hesitate to apply. Thank god I applied on time" I explained chuckling at my last sentence,

"How about you? what made you join this club?" I ask, curious as to why she joined,

"Well like you, I love to learn new languages. I also want to travel in the future and I think it's essential to learn the language first before travelling there" She answers,
