In the distance of a black void: " hanako."
"Hanako."
"Hanako!"
Her eyes shot open and her body soon followed jolting up with her hand carving a path to her blade. She looked around till her eyes were met by Kaneshi smiling at her.
Kaneshi: "Calm down, it's time to wake up."
Hanako sighed letting go of the handle and smiling at the girl that sat before her.
Hanako: "Good morning to you too, what time is it?"
Kaneshi: "7:40 in the AM." She said with a grin.
Hanako only sighed again, this time a tad heavier.
Kaneshi: "Come on, gather your belongings and meet me at the door, it's time for breakfast!" She said clapping her hands together as she walked away.
Hanako followed her with her eyes before getting up herself. She stretched, raising her hands way above her head before coming back to her normal state. She looked down at her sleeping bag, contemplating whether or she should return to it but ultimately knelt and began packing it away. As she finished, she picked up her sword and headed towards Kaneshi who had been patiently waiting at the door.
Kaneshi: "Well someone took their time." She said mockingly
Hanako only shook her head at the girl before walking past her. Kaneshi caught up to her soon after.
Kaneshi: "Soooooo"
Hanako looked over at the girl with a curious look
Kaneshi: "Are we gonna talk about it?"
Hanako: "About what?"
Kaneshi: "Don't play dumb! Obviously, something is bothering you or you had a bad dream of some kind."
Hanako: "What are you talking about?"
Kaneshi: "People don't just reach for their sword whenever they wake up."
Hanako looked away as they continued walking. She sighed before responding to the girl's comment.
Hanako: "I do."
Kaneshi stopped and followed Hanako with her eyes as she continued on her own. Seconds later Hanako turned around to see a puzzled Kaneshi.
Hanako: "What I mean to say is that it's a bit of a habit, a grew up outside the kingdoms so I tend to be a little more on edge I guess." She said as she rubbed the nape of her neck. Kaneshi only nodded before joining her again and continuing their walk. Before long they reached the school cafeteria and each grabbed a tray along with a stack of pancakes. Soon the cafeteria began filling up with more and more students. Every one of them talking it seemed. Before long, the intercom chimed and Glynda Goodwitch's voice soon followed.
Glynda: "Would all first-year students make their way to their lockers, again all first-year students to their lockers."
Hanako and Kaneshi promptly got up from their seats making their way to their lockers. Hanako unlocked hers and set down her bedding. She scanned the cloth that wrapped a certain blade and its sheath. She reached and touched it but before she could grab it Kaneshi spooked her from behind.
Kaneshi: "What's that?"
Hanako: "Huh? O-oh it's n-nothing!" She said as she grabbed closed her locker and adjust the sword on her waist.
Kaneshi: "Well it doesn't sound like nothing." She said in a teasing manner. Hanako rubbed the back of her head looking up thinking of what to say to the girl in front of her.
