It Will Always Be You

Chapter 009

(Ag's POV)

As I get off the plane I am suddenly a bundle of nerves, I know I have nothing to be nervous about but you know the feeling. I grab my bag and start heading to where Anna said she would be waiting for me. As I get closer and closer I feel myself getting more and more nervous. I feel myself walking faster and faster just wanting to get to her already to hold her in my arms. While I am walking I think about everything that is going to happen over the next couple of days and what I hope to happen between the two of us. I feel like we are both on the same page with our feelings, but sometimes I still wonder where Anna's head is because she is so closed off and I am too scared to pry her open because what if it is too much and she decides she doesn't want to do this anymore. I shake that feeling the second I see her. She looks perfect standing there looking around for me, she looks just as nervous as I am. I stop dead in my tracks and just look at her for a second, like the world around me is frozen and I can't move. But then she sees me and we lock eyes, despite the mask on I can see a big smile on her face which makes my heart go a million beats per minute.

(Anna's POV)

I am looking around for Ag trying my best to hide my nerves and then I see her. She is just standing there looking at me. The second I see her a huge smile comes on my face, no one has ever made me feel this happy. Before I even realize what is happening I start running to Ag as fast I possibly can. She takes a couple steps forward but then stops and braces for impact as I jump on her and wrap my legs around her waist and my arms around her neck. She instantly hugs me back even tighter and buries her head in my neck. In this moment I don't care who is watching, all I know is that I feel more at home than I ever have. I am deep in thought still holding onto her when I hear her say "I missed you" in the softest tone ever that practically melts my heart. "I missed you so much" I respond back and let go of the hug and put my feet back down on the ground. "Wow that was so beautiful I am tearing up" Emmi says pretending to cry. "Oh shut up, let them have their moment" Julia says back to her as she hits her arm. I laugh a the fact that Julia is the one who is being reasonable, usually that is Ami's job in the friend group. "Well Anna are you going to introduce us or just stand their with a dumb look on your face?" Julia says with a little sass. Ahhh yes this feels more like the Julia I know. "Well Ag the short one is Julia and this is Emmi" I say as I point to each of them, making sure to rub Julia's short height in her face. "Hey guys it is so nice to finally meet you, I have heard so much about you!" Ag says with a little wave, definitely trying not to show how nervous she is. "Probably not nearly as much as we have heard about you," Emmi starts. Oh no I think to myself this isn't going to end well, "every day it is Ag did this, Ag said this, omg look at this tiktok Ag made..." she is about to keep going before I decide to cut her off. "Okay I think that is enough of the introductions we should probably get going to Talia, Aaron, and Kelly's airbnb." I say trying to get her to shut the hell up.

(Ag's POV)

I can't help but to laugh at the interactions between Anna and her friends, it reminds me so much of me and my friends. Anna walks me over the to trunk and opens it for me, I see this as a perfect opportunity to tease her a little bit. "So you talk about me to your friends huh?" I ask as I put my suitcase in the trunk. "well uh I mean sorta kinda sometimes" Anna says while stuttering. She is so cute when she gets nervous "I think it's cute" I say and give her a slight kiss on her cheek and walk to the passenger side of the car. She stands there for a second and then get inside the car and start heading to the Airbnb. The four of us just start having a natural conversation about some serious things and some silly things as well. I honestly feel like I haven't stopped smiling since I got her and it has only been less than an hour. Plus how can I not be happy when I look over and see Anna driving, there is just something about her driving that is so beyond attractive and gives me so many butterflies. The one time she does catch me staring at her and she just gets the biggest smile on her face. This keeps happening until we get to our destination. After saying hi to everyone who I have only ever talked to on social media Anna and I decide to post a tiktok of us together, considering the fans are already being crazy about the possibility of us being together. It is a simple tiktok of us sitting next to each other just laughing with silly music in the background. I am getting ready to post it when I see Anna is clearly very nervous about it.

"Hey I don't need to post this, we don't need to post anything while I am here if you don't want to." I say trying to reassure her. "No no it's okay they will just be even more obsessive if we don't post anything." She says with a weak smile. I am definitely going to have to talk to her about that at some point, but for now I just want to enjoy our time together. After all post a couple tiktoks we get off our phones and enjoy each others presence. We are having such a good time that we loose track of time and don't realize how late it is until Anna's mom is calling her. "Hey mom" she says covering her one ear so she can hear her better since we are all talking to loud and arguing about if water is wet or not. "Oh shoot I didn't realize how late it was, okay we will be home soon. Brandon still doesn't know right? Okay perfect. Love you bye" she says as she hangs up the phone. "Hey guys I am sorry to end this thrilling conversation but Ag and I need to go home, Brandon is pestering my mom about his surprise." She says and nudges me with her elbow. "Do you guys want us to drop you off at home or stay here and they can take you home?" She asks Emmi and Julia. "I think we are going to stay here because I am not done defending the fact that water is not wet!" Julia says with determination in her voice. "Good luck with that one!" I say while laughing "It was nice meeting everyone and can't wait to hang out again!!" With that and a few hugs goodbye we are heading back to the Shumate residence. 

Once we get in the car I ask Anna what the plan is to surprise Brandon, man do I love that kid he is just a ball of energy and so happy all of the time. "So I was thinking I will walk in the house and lead Brandon away from the door, then you come in and sneak up behind hime." Anna says with so much energy, I can tell how excited she is for this plan. "Sounds good to me!! I can't wait to see him, there have been so many times when we were facetiming that I almost let it slip out that I was coming." I say with a big smile on my face. Before I know it we are pulling into Anna's driveway and that excitement she had a few minutes ago is gone. I can tell something is bothering her. "Bub what is wrong?" I ask while putting my hand on top of hers trying to comfort her. "I am just so scared to come out to them, what if they hate me?" She says with tears in her eyes. I know the exact feeling she is going through right now. "How could they hate you? They seem to like me, some of them even more than they like you, and I am clearly a raging homosexual. And if for some reason they don't accept you, you can just come and live with me." Is ay with a comforting smile. I manage to get a laugh out of her which even when she is sad makes my heart race. "You always know what to say and I will forever be grateful for that" she says and this time it is her kissing me on the cheek. My cheeks feel like they are burning and I feel them getting read. "Okay I am going to head inside now, are you ready for the plan?" She asks. I nod my head and give her a thumbs up, she gets out of the car and heads into her house.

(Anna's POV)

As I walk inside I am once again attacked by Brandon "Where is it??" He asks looking around me to see if I am holding something for him. "Your surprise is here, but you have to go wait in the living room for it and close your eyes." I say to him and before I can even finish my sentence he is sprinting as fast as he can to the living room. I chuckle to myself and text Ag that she can start coming inside now. I start walking to the living room and see Brandon already sitting on the couch with his hands over his eyes. " This kid is literally going to crap his pants I think to myself as I hear the front door open which means Ag is in the house. "Okay Brandon you better not be peaking, if you are I can't give you your surprise." I explain to him as Ag comes and stands right next to me. She gives me a nod and I start to countdown for Brandon to open his eyes "3...2...1... OPEN." When I tell you he practically jumped off the couch and onto Ag I am not exaggerating. "AG NO WAY THIS IS SO COOL" He yells into her ears and is just so excited for her to be here. It honestly makes all the worries I have with my family go away when I see her hugging him back. Maybe, just maybe everything will be alright between the two of us I think to myself as Ag puts Brandon down.
