Like a headless chicken, I ran around my flat trying to make sure I had everything with me and packed. You see, I was getting ready to spend my last summer before I graduated Hogwarts at the burrow. I had always spent some time during the summer at the burrow, it was pretty hard to escape seeing as my best friends, the notorious Weasley twins, would insist I visit them during every chance we were off school, especially during the long summer holiday. I say it like it was a chore or that they would have to drag me kicking and screaming just to visit them at their home but it was quite the opposite. I loved staying at the burrow, it always had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and Molly's home cooking was a treat to say the least. I always looked forward to staying, though at times it could be noisy and chaotic it filled in the silence of living alone.
I've lived alone ever since I was 16, in a little apartment above Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley. My mother was a witch working as a healer in St.Mungos and my father was a muggle who would stay at home to care for me. Unfortunately, my mother died amongst the crossfire during the great wizarding war whilst trying to heal people and my father died from cancer during my 5th year at hogwarts. With no other family left I was forced to look for a place to live, fortunately my father was friends with the owner of Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley, Mr Florean reached out to me after he heard about my father and offered me the flat above the ice cream parlour, in exchange I take shifts at the parlour and help however I can.
I normally only spend a few weeks at the burrow as I'm usually quite busy with working in the ice cream parlour due to it being summer but this year was different. Mrs Weasley had sent me a letter within the first week saying that I was to come over to the burrow as soon as possible as I would be spending my whole summer there and to not worry about work as she had already asked Mr Florean ahead of time. Apparently he agreed with Mrs Weasley that I "should be spending my last summer having fun and relaxing instead of working".
So I checked my bag one last time and ran to my fireplace, I stepped inside whilst grabbing a handful of floo powder saying clearly "the burrow".
