Friday - Continued

"I have to go to the restroom," I say.

I hurry in the bathroom and quickly get in a stall. I must think quick. I hear the bathroom door open.

"Hey, are you ok?" Taylor asks.

"Yeah, just a pee emergency," I reply.

A pee emergency? What was I thinking? I'll just cover up my face and hide my hair in my hat.

"Good, that'll work," I say.

Wait, why do I have a Hispanic accent? I check my phone and yes, it's there, Pitbull's contact. I hear the door open and I hope it's not Taylor.

"Hey, Pam is everything all right?"

Wait, is that Taylor's mom?!

"Taylor said that it seemed like something was wrong and I just wanted to make sure you're okay," she said.

What am I gonna do about my accent?

"Yeah everythings good," I say in a muffled voice.

"Okay," she replies.

First thing I need to do is try and fix the holes in my jacket. Maybe I could stuff the hole with toilet paper! I grab the roll and start to stuff my coat, but it isn't enough to fix the hole.

With that plan failed I need to think of something else. Wait, how long have I been in here? I've been in here for twenty minutes?! I need to think of something,  and quick.

"Hey, Pam it's Taylor. Sorry if I'm bothering you but are you sure everythings okay?" she asks.

"Yeah just girl stuff," I reply without my voice muffled.

"You sound different," Taylor says.

"Oh yeah, I'm starting to get a cold," I say nervously.

"Okay well I hope I'll see you out there soon," she walks out out of the bathroom.

I don't think I'm gonna warm up anytime soon just by sitting here. Wait! The hand dryer. I get up on the toilet to make sure no one's in the bathroom. I quickly open up the stall door and put my arm underneath. I can see my hair going back to Auburn. I stuff the hole with  paper towls and hopefully that will yield the cold.
"Taylor, are you ready to go skating?" I ask.
"Well somebody just threw up all over the ice and I'm feeling a little queasy, so I think we're just gonna go home," she says slowly.

"Oh okay that's fine," I say in calm voice, even though I'm a little upset.

We arrive at my house.

"Well even though I didn't skate much thanks for taking me," I say as I get out of the car.

Well today was a bust. I didn't even get to spend any time with my best friend, which is the whole reason I even went. I'm started to feel like Taylor and I are drifting further and further apart. I go up to my room and my mom and dad come in.

"Hey sweetie, how was ice skating. Did anything interesting happen?" my mom asked.

"It was fine," I replied.

"Are you sure?" she asks.

"Yeah," I say quickly.

"Okay well your father and I have to tell you something," she says.

I think I know where this is going.
