"Hey, kids! I'll give you a test on college-level economics! You are my brightest students after all! NO, REINER. WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU SAID THAT," The person who was not Akaashi yelled, seconds away from throwing her notebook across the living room.
Akaashi would've interrupted, had it not been for Joan, the maid, who gently took the book out of her hands, "(Y/N)-sama, uh, I apologize but I think it's best you have some tea." She said carefully, knowing that the girl was on thin ice.
"I don't need tea, Joan, I need coffee," (Y/N) groaned, not seeming to sound rude toward the woman.
"Coffee will only heighten your anxiety," She said flinching when (Y/N) picked up her science book.
"Uh-huh! Fun fact: I knew that already! I knew that because of this stupid textbook that is so fucking thick that I could kill myself with it! Right now would be the perfect opportunity, actually!" She said with crazed eyes, only due to the amount of stress she had been put under in a matter of days. They were lucky her mother wasn't in Japan at the moment, or it could've been a lot worse. Both Akaashi and Joan knew this was only surface level stress, and it could easily be cooled. Even with volleyball qualifiers around the corner, along with tests, her state at the moment was a million times better than before. Screaming and yelling was a lot better than not eating for days.
"(Y/N)," Akaashi mumbled softly. She whirled around, giving Joan the opportunity to rush away and make the tea she was talking about. He gave her a look. It was calming, yet teasing. He had a little humour in his eyes as he placed a single delicate hands on top of her head. With a brow raised, he looked dead into her eyes, "(Y/N)."
After a good second of her searching his eyes, her shoulders sagged as she let out a small sigh, a tiny smile growing onto her lips, "Sorry, Keiji,"
"Good, dumbass," He said softly, prying the heavy textbook off her hands, "I know it's hard with tests and all your college stuff, but you have got to stop threatening to kill yourself with chemistry textbooks,"
She grinned guiltily, "Yeah... SORRY JOAN!"
"It's alright!" Came the muffled voice from behind the kitchen door.
"And I'm not the only one who's stressed. Acting like you don't have a bruise from where you've twisted your ring on your finger," She said pointedly, crossing her arms. It was more than evident that their whole pre-exam stress session had become a lot better since before summer, but that didn't mean they just stopped stressing in general. It was still, uh, chaotic. Just a glimpse at the messy living room that had blankets and laptops and scattered papers with messy handwriting as well as a trail of flashcards just thrown around everywhere, you could see that they were at least a little on edge. "You have a biology exam tomorrow, don't you?"
