TW: self harm

You wake up to hear muffled water splashing. Huh? Where am I? Oh yeah. I'm at Tsuki- I mean... Kei's house.

After you thought about how hard it would be getting used to calling him by his first name, the water from the shower turned off and a few minutes later, Kei had walked out of his bathroom in gray sweatpants and without a shirt. Wow. You thought, a light blush on your cheeks.

Kei was drying his hair with a towel when he looked up at you. He locked his eyes with yours and you both just stared at each other. You had a mysterious and wondering look, while he had a surprised and embarrassed look.

Kei then cleared his throat, returning to his stoic face. "How did you sleep?" He asked walking over to his closet. He picked out a shirt and put it on, walking over to his desk to sit in the chair.

"Oh um, fine. After the nightmare, I slept a lot better."

"Good."

"Your plushies are really cute." You said looking back at the shelf above his desk, a small smile on your face.

"Please don't talk about those. I don't want you making fun of me for it. I only have them because my dumbass brother won't let me get rid of them from when I was kid."

"Mmhmm..." You hummed, a smirk on your face. You noticed how you had felt a lot more comfortable around Kei lately. You weren't stuttering as much, and you weren't afraid to start conversations with him. "I think you just love them so much that you never want to get rid of them. They're like a symbol of who you are." You paused for a second. "What's your favorite food?"

"Why should I tell you, shorty?"

"Because I know you want to."

He paused for a second. "Strawberry shortcake." He mumbled.

"That's it then! You are..." You pointed your index finger out to him. "... a salty, strawberry shortcake loving dino!"

"Salty? I'm not salty."

"Um Kei. Have you met yourself? Obviously not."

"Hey! I am not salty! I just don't like people. They're annoying and full of shit."

You giggled, amused by his little outburst. He had raised his voice a little, but you weren't afraid of him. Before, whenever someone would get louder, you would flinch or get scared... but not with him. Not with Kei.

"So you think I'm annoying and full of shit?"

"You are annoying, but I don't consider you a person." He paused for a second, putting his hand to his chin. "I think of you more as a small shrimp."

"Hey! I'm not that small!" You said, laughing.

"Yes you are." Kei said with a smile.

His smile is so kind, so gentle. You wished he smiled more. It suits him. He looks so happy and friendly.

"You should smile more." You thought aloud once you had stopped laughing.

He paused to think. "Why?" He asked.

"You look good when you smile. You look happy. Whenever you're insulting someone or you're 'being yourself,' you don't look satisfied. You just look... what's the word..." You mumbled. "... bored! You look bored. Like you don't care at all about what the other person is doing. Like you're only doing it to keep a reputation."
