May happily entered her house as she made her way up towards her room. She dropped her school bag onto her bed and took out the homework assigned for tomorrow. May knew that if she wanted to hang out with any of her friends, then she would need to finish her homework first or else her father would kill her... not literally of course... he'd just ground her instead
As soon as she was done with her worksheets, May placed everything back into her backpack. She left the yellow/red school bag on top of her desk as fast as she could and ran over towards the washroom to get ready for her plans later on
"Where are you going in such a hurry?" asked a voice as soon as the brunette was done in the washroom. May sighed and saw none other than her annoying little brother Max. She was happy it was only Max who was here, since her parents were currently still working or else they would be interrogating her right now... guess Max decided to be the interrogator, but she could handle him easily and not worry as much
"If you must know, I'm going over to a friend's house to hang out for awhile" she replied going back into her room with Max following her "Don't you have other things to do?" she asked as the younger boy shook his head and leaned on her door way as he watched his older sister pack a few things into an orange-yellow backpack
"Alright Max, mom and dad should be coming home soon. Promise not to wreak the house while I'm gone?" she asked remembering how one time Max and a friend of his had somehow wreaked the kitchen and living room
"That was only one time! Besides it's not my fault..." Max weakly said, knowing that technically what happened that day was in fact his fault "Anyway May, I promise not to wreak the house or do anything... only if you tell me which friend's house you'll be staying at"
May froze as she noticed Max giving her an innocent look "Fine! I'm heading over to Ash's house. Happy?" she said as her younger brother gave a nod and went back to what it was he was doing before.
May sighed as she left the house soon afterwards 'Little brother's these days' she thought and made her way over towards the bus stop
Later, Pallet Town
May got off the bus as soon as she heard Pallet Town being the next stop. She thanked the driver and made her way towards the house of a certain raven haired teen
"Let's see... no, not that one... or that one... umm... there it is!" she exclaimed as soon as she saw the house that belonged to Ash. May made her way towards the house and heard some noise coming from inside. She hesitated for a second and then knocked on the door loudly as she soon heard a familiar voice shout from inside
Once the door opened up, May noticed that it was Ash who had answered the door. She took in his appearance from head to toe and smiled at him as he led her inside "Hey May..." he greeted her sorta nervously
"Hey Ash..." the brunette equally nervous said as she suddenly heard another voice coming from upstairs "Ash!"
Ash looked at May apologetically "That's my older brother Red. I'll be right back. The living room is just around the corner" he told her and made his way upstairs
May slowly made her way into the living room as she looked through the many pictures on the wall "Hey, you must be May right?" a female voice asked as May spun around and saw a girl with brown hair and a white hat
"Um ya, May Maple... and you are?" she asked as the girl smiled
"I'm Leaf Green. Nice to meet you" she introduced herself "Come on into the living room. I'm just waiting for the others to get here" Leaf said as she led May
"Others? What others? Ash didn't tell me about others coming over" May questioned as Leaf looked at her shocked "You mean he didn't invite you to the little get together for this new game Ash apparently got?" May heard Leaf ask
"No. He and me actually made plans to hang out after school... he never mentioned anything about playing a game" May replied
"That's because he didn't know until after school" said another voice as May looked at the new teen before her and saw it was Gary Oak "I was the one who convinced him for this get together. Had he told me, you and he were going to have a date... I would've moved the date for tomorrow. Oh well, too late for that now" he said as Leaf sweat dropped and May had her face red like a tomato
"It wasn't going to be a date" "Gary, you wouldn't have moved the game date" both May and Leaf said at the same time
"What's going on here?" questioned a voice as the group of 3 turn to see Ash and who May presumed to be Red at the entrance into the living room. May looked at Red, who stood with a yellow backpack on as he stared at them "Never mind, Ash told me not interfere or ask questions. Anyway Ash, I'm going over to Blue's house... try not to mess anything up"
"I haven't messed up the house since I finished middle school!" Ash said as Red gave him an unamused face and left with a small wave soon afterwards
"Sorry about that. Mom put him in charge and if she finds out I messed the house while Red was in charge... let's just say he'll kill me" the raven haired teen told everyone and then turned to face the brunette in the red bandana "Also May... I'm sorry for not telling you about the change in plans" Ash said looking at May with a saddened expression
May sent him a small smile "It's alright Ash. Hopefully we'll get to do our plans for a nice alone afternoon together another time" she told him softly as Ash nodded eagerly at the chance of spending a whole afternoon with only May...
"So this is the game we're supposedly going to play?" May asked as she looked over the cover of the game case and also the little summary at the back
"Yup! This game isn't even out in stores yet! No way are we missing out on such a big opportunity as this. And there is also no chance of any of you beating me" Gary excitedly said as many of them sweat dropped
Ash sighed at the eagerness Gary was expressing. He still wasn't all too sure about playing this game... but it was either play or suffer Gary's teasing for the rest of the school year. Of course he was going to choice the former
As such they all found themselves watching a random show on TV. So far only he, May, Gary and Leaf were here and as such they were waiting for Dawn and Lucas to arrive
As if by magic, everyone heard a knock on the door "I'll get it!" Ash said and ran towards the door "Dawn! Lucas!" Ash greeted the two teens, until he noticed the third teen behind them "Drew?" he questioned
"About that... See when I went to Lucas's house, he and Drew were working on a research project and as such once they were done, Drew had already told his parents he would be staying over at Lucas' and had no choice but to invite him over" Dawn said and hoped Ash wouldn't be too mad with them having brought Drew over
Ash sighed. He knew he couldn't blame Dawn nor Lucas for bringing Drew over. However, he had hoped not to see the lettuce head today of all days... especially since May was here and Ash knew how much Drew also seemed to like May "Its fine. No need to worry" he decided to say with a forced smile and led the trio into his house
Hopefully nothing would happen once they started this weird titled game... if only he knew
