Backstory before plot: After her mother and father divorced when Piper turned two years old, she lived with her father. He made a living as a truck driver while living in New Jersey until he found work in San Diego, California as an accountant. He was given the chance to go to college in Europe when Piper was 16, and decided to leave her with her mother, who made work as a fish and game warden. And so the plot begins....
