She didn't know what that feeling was.

It was painful, but at the same time so beautiful.

She didn't even know why, or where that feeling came from. Maybe it came from her past life, before she lost her memories?

She wanted to know, but at the same time she was afraid to know.

What if it was something that made her sad? Or someone who hurt her deeply?

But it could also be something that made her happy, someone that made her hopeful.

She remembered when that weird feeling came up, after a peculiar dream she had.

In her dream, there was a boy with unusual white hair, his face was blurred, but she felt he was smiling, for her.

She didn't know who the boy was, or why he called her "Emma". Maybe Emma is her name?

But if she was Emma, who was he? A ghost from her past? A memory? Someone important?

No matter how much she tried to remember, the results would always be a terrible headache and a confused feeling.

The white-haired boy was not the only one who appeared in his dreams, there was also one with black hair, a blonde girl, another girl with green hair, a boy with brown hair and others.

He also had adults in his dreams, a black-haired woman, a black woman, and two men, one with black hair with white streaks and the other with red hair.

Even though she felt sad when she dreamed of those adults, the white-haired boy was the only one who aroused that confused feeling.

Maybe this boy was really someone really important for her past self?

It was so confusing...

It became even more confusing when dreams gradually changed.

At first this boy looked about eleven years old, he was not tall and he looked, in a way, quite fragile.

But after a while, he started to appear different, he was much more tall, he looked more mature and he even seemed to have muscles, although a part of her mind doubted much of the last part.

Everyone else who appeared in her dreams also seemed to change, but the white-haired one in her opinion was the one that had the most changes.

She even thought she was a different person, but the way he called her supposed name, and the feeling, made her sure it was the same, just a bit different.

Maybe puberty had hit him like a bus?

-----

Even though she didn't know anything about him, he was still strangely special.

So she felt sad when he stopped showing up in her dreams.

Maybe a part of herself got tired of trying to remember things that she will never remember.

Maybe that's why her dreams about all those people suddenly stopped.

But it still made her sad, not seeing that boy anymore.

She even considered the idea that all the people in her dreams were just imaginary people, and that they never really existed.

She hoped they really existed.

She had even asked the man who took her in, if he knew someone who looked like that.

"Sorry, I never saw anyone like that" was the answer she received.

She wanted to look for him, but she feared it was just a waste of time.

What if he got rid of her? What if everyone in her dreams had grown tired of her, and decided to just leave her alone?

Did she do something wrong?

Did she make them angry?

Did she... Hurt them?

-----

She stopped thinking about all of them.

She didn't want to get hurt any more.

It was quite painful to spend the days trying to solve something that would probably never be resolved.

She often woke up crying after having a cloudy and confused dream.

Every day was painful.

She wanted to keep trying to remember them, keep trying to remember him, even though she knew she would never.

Then that thought came, like a silent whisper in her mind.

Give up.

Give up. That's what it said.

Finally, she followed the choice that would hurt the least.

She gave up.

-----

There he was, the white-haired boy was standing in front of her, just like all the other kids of her dreams.

But it wasn't how she expected to see them.

Everyone was asking so many questions, crying, and trying to make her remember things she didn't understand.

Except him.

He just smiled kindly, even though he was crying, and said he was relieved that she was alive.

He was smiling at her, even though she didn't remember him.

She would be lying if she said that her heart did not heat up with him kind words.

Tears started to fall from her face.

"I feel like I always wanted to see you all too"

That feeling came back again when the boy's hands tightened on her hands

Happiness wasn't even the right word to describe what she felt.

"Let's live together" He said still smiling and crying.

Oh, so that was that feeling.

"Yes" Emma said with one of the biggest smiles she has ever given.

It was love.
