I hurried along the spotless floor, my heels making loud clunks as they hit the pale marble. I glanced to my left, then to my right, then over my shoulder. Good. No one was watching. My eyes wandered to a tall, muscular body lurking at the end of the brightly lit corridor. The boy's dark eyes caught mine for a millisecond, then they returned staring at the floor. To unsuspecting eye, his body was stiller than stone but to my eye, I saw a slight movement near his shoulders. He was anxious. I increased my pace, ever so slightly, desperate to get to him. I got near enough that I could make out his expression. His face was blank, his small dark eye brows where neither in a frown nor a relaxed state, his dry lips were unmoving, his dark brown eyes showed no emotion as they continued to stare straight through the white marble. Another few paces closer and I smelt his manly, though slightly woody, smell. While I screamed at myself for inhaling to deeply, his eyes suddenly looked up from the floor. Right into mine. Out of nowhere his muscular arm shoved me roughly backwards. I went into a state of shock and tripped; I felt a slither of pain down my back as I was slammed against a solid metal door. It opened at the force of my body against it and I fell awkwardly into the dark empty room that lay behind it. The icy coldness of the concrete floor traveled right up my spine, but I ignored it and put all my focus on the boy. He stepped soundlessly into the room and closed the metal door, blocking the bright light out and covering us in a heavy blanket of darkness. I sat there for a few seconds controlling my rapid breathing. I slowly gathered myself and rose from the ground shaking slightly.

"M...Minho?"

A gust of cool air blew past me and before I knew it, Minho's arms were wrapped around me. His grasp was somehow strong yet incredibly gentle. I immediately relaxed and let out a sigh of relief as we embraced in the dark. Then I remembered why I was here and tensed up again. I broke out of his arms then looked up to his stunning face.

"You needed to talk?" I was shocked when I heard my unwavering voice.

"Its about the maze." Minho's eyebrows knitted together but I couldn't help but focus on his heavenly voice. He speaks fluent English but you could hear a tiny hint of his beautiful Korean accent ringing in the background of every word he spoke. His voice is one of my biggest weaknesses. Along with the rest of him.

"Everything is about the maze." I resort trying to look directly into his eyes but the dark made it difficult to tell where they were.

Despite the tension, Minho let out a tiny chuckle. It disappeared as fast as it came. The weight of the air in the room felt heavier as it steadily enclosed around my body.

"I am being sent up. Tomorrow."

I knew this day would come. I knew they would eventually send my Minho up into that cursed maze, but the knowledge of knowing that it would one day happen couldn't protect me from the utter fear and sorrow that now griped my stomach. It couldn't save me from the shaking of my hands, my legs, my whole body. It couldn't save my Minho from leaving me and... Forgetting everything.

I opened my mouth to say something but Minho's finger silenced me. He brought me close again. His soft breath tickled my ear and I could hear the fast beating of his heart. His hands gently cupped around my face then without warning his lips came down on mine. The world around us disappeared. It was only me and him entwined in each other. We were out of reach of W. C. K. D. Out of reach from the flare. Out of reach from the whole world. No one could hurt us ever again.

Reality came crashing down on me as he suddenly released his lips from mine.

"Minho," I whispered. "You don't have to go... please, we could run away. You don't have to..."

His finger silenced me again.

"I love you." And with that he slowly faded away, back into the depths of my memory.
