And sorry if this chapter seems dry but I'm trying to get this to at least 2000 words but I promise this chapter changes the story trust h!! 🥲💔 but enjoy!

[ The next day ]
It was morning again. I finished chopping some wood and placed them neatly in my straw basket. Natsu and Mom were cleaning our futons in the back of the cottage. I put my basket of wood on my back, slipping my arms through the straps. I ran back to the back of the cottage telling my mom and Natsu goodbye.

"Come home quick" Mom shouted " Come home Quick ok Shoyo!" Natsu yelled
waving goodbye to me.

I waved back and followed the snowy path that leads down to the town. For some reason, I had this feeling that this was the last time I would see them.

I made my way down from the mountain and made my way into town. I made sure I had plenty of wood for everyone. The town was a little on the smaller side, it wasn't like the cities and towns in Tokyo with all their bright lights and wealthy houses.

Our town wasn't poor but it wasn't wealthy either. I walked down the lane of apartments and shops offering and handing wood to anyone who asked.

"Hinata" a voice called behind me, I turned around to find Ms.Kira Standing behind me. Ms.Kira was a petit women with long black hair, she's really pretty and she was also the town's doctor.

" Oh! Hi Ms.Kira" I shouted walking up to her, " would you like some wood?"
I asked.

" Oh yes please. And here take this." Ms.Kira handed me a small red pouch,  she dropped it in my hands and inside was 5 Ryo* " Thank you so much! "

I bowed to Ms.Kira and in return I gave her the wood. The wood went sold really fast and it was still late in the afternoon, so I have decided to see if anyone in town needed some help. As I wondered around town I heard someone shout my name

"SHOYO!" a group of children came rushing to me. Some came running up and to hug me while one jumped on my backand another two grabbed my arm which made me spin them around.

"Hey shoyo you wanna play temari with us?" Asked one child, " yea come play with us!" The sentence was repeated so many times that I gladly said yes.

The children cheered and we went into an empty part of town to play. The more and more I played with them, the more I lost track of time.

Before I knew it was already sunset, some of the children's parents were calling them home while I realized what time it was.

" Oh shit" I grabbed my basket as well has the hatchet I carried with me on my side, I quickly ran towards the path that leads me to the path home. As soon as I was there a voice called to me

" Hinata!" I quickly stopped and turned my head only to see Ms.Kira peeking out from her house door.

"Ms.Kira. I'm so sorry I don't have any more wood and I need to get back ho-"

" No I don't need anymore wood Hinata, but please come inside."

Ms.Kira motioned her hands for me to go inside her home.

"Ms.Kira I really can't my mom is go-"
Suddenly there was a terrify shriek that cut me off. It wasn't the shriek of animal nor was it the shriek of a human.
