Running down the narrow alleyway, a silver haired boy was desperately tugging his sister along with him as he felt the ominous aura get closer with each second...
Turning a sharp right, he realized that they were trapped.
He could try to pick up Alluka and parkour out of the alley, but Illumi was way faster than them. It would have been different if Killua still had his electricity, but it ran out a while ago during the chase.
As they came to a stop, he finally felt his older brother close in on them.
They were cornered, with only one exit - which Illumi was in the way of.
"Give it up Kil. You put up a good chase for the past year, but it's time to come home. Father's orders," Illlumi's stern voice echoed off the walls. "And hand over Alluka. She's been outside for long enough. Any longer and it will cause problems."
Killua's eyes rapidly darted around the place, looking for a way out... 'Even a small opening would be enough... At least something...!!'
The boy was expecting a confrontation at some point, but not that soon.
Ever since Gon and Killua parted ways, his father figured that it was time for Killua to return home as well, but Killua did not think so...
He and Alluka managed to successfully avoid their family for a little more than a year, before Illumi finally caught them.
It was obvious that as soon as they'd return home, Alluka would get locked up again, or worse... He couldn't let that happen no matter what.
Maybe he should try calling out for help? No... No one would hear them... And even if someone did come to their rescue, he doubted they'd manage to take on Illumi...
Should they just make a run for it? The chance of them successfully escaping is practically nonexistent but it was still there! But that might end up with one or both of them getting hurt... Should he make a wish to Nanaika..? Wait, no! He promised he wouldn't use her like that agai—
"Killua."
His train of thought was abruptly interrupted by the cause of distress in question.
"I'll count to 10. If you come willingly, I promise neither of you will be harmed (too much)," but Illumi didn't add the last part.
Killua had a hard time believing that. 'Harm'? His family's definition of 'harm' was very... Different from his, to say the least.
They've made him drink poison and go through various torture sessions ever since he could remember. The scars on his body being a constant reminder...
"It's for your own good" they would say. "It'll help you become a great assassin, you'll see!" But he never wanted to be an assassin. He just did what he was told to do. If he could choose, then he'd rather be weaker than he was now, if it meant he could have a chance at a normal childhood. If he could, he'd choose to never have to go through his 'training' in the first place.
But it was no use dwelling on the past right now. He needed to focus on the present. On how to escape.
"Ten,"
Killua felt a tug on his sleeve.
"Nine,"
"Big brother..." Came Alluka's timid voice.
"Eight,"
"Nanaika and I have been discussing this for a while now and..."
"Seven,"
The pale boy furrowed his eyebrows, "Alluka..?"
"Six,"
"We want to thank you. This past year has been the best time of our lives, and we really appreciate what you did for us..."
Illumi was unfazed by what was happening so he just continued counting.
"Five"
"We know you love us very much, and we love you too! So please..."
"Four,"
"Alluka what are you going on about? Is something wrong? Are you in pain?"
"Three,"
"We know how tired you already are. Despite everything that we put you through, you still continued smiling at us and patting our head."
The gears inside Killua's head were slowly turning. 'Is she trying to tell me something? Is this some sort of code?'
"Two,"
"You deserve better. Please... Please have a good life." And then he finally realized what was going on. "We love you." the two girls said in sync.
Before Illumi could finish his countdown, he was startled as a strange black hole suddenly appeared that seemed to subtly change colors as the fog inside of it swirled entrancingly.
Immediately coming back to his senses, he sprang forward to grab Killua, but Nanaika prevented him from reaching the silver haired boy just in time by using some sort of force field.
"ALLUKA WAIT—"
But before the ex-assassin could finish his sentence, he was sucked into the Abyss.
