I wish I had wings
To fly far from the trouble
To soar above the guilty
I wish I had wings
The opportunity to leave
The strength of extra limbs
I wish I had wings
To forget what aching feet felt like
To only reach the sky and kiss it
I wish I had wings
The burden of gravity won't bother me
The ones that can't join in will be mute
Instead I get chains on my back
Weights that pull me down
Torn skin replace soft feathers
Burnt bones outline the nightmares
My back aches and turns weak
Horns twist in and out of the ugly limbs
Blood and bruises color them
My wings I wished for
The things that let me soar
The weapons that makes the guilty run
My wings I wished for
My very demented wings
My very scarred wings
My very torn wings
My very bruised wings
My nightmare wings
Reflecting me
These are my very own
Broken wings
