Glancing around I grabbed my clothes and put them in the hamper before tidying my room a bit. Looking at the clock I was surprised to see the blue neon lights read 5:36 pm. Damn it was early, but nonetheless I was exhausted. Checking my homework I decided to do it tomorrow during free period, lunch, homeroom, and all other classes if necessary. So what if I blew off a little homework, I could always copy it. After all high school is really just a test of how well you can cope under stress and lack of sleep, as well as how fast you can copy or how discreetly you can cheat.

Collapsing in bed I decided to call it a night. Of course my brain had other ideas. Like hey why don't we think about every conspiracy theory or oddity of the human race! Or better yet, I wonder what would happen if Kennedy actually lived. Or better still, what would it be like if dinosaurs existed, who'd be at the top of the food chain then. Speaking of which, why are humans regarded to be at the top of the food Chain. Throw us in the woods for a few hours and we'd try to replicate technology, but without that, we're as good as dead. I mean come one it takes us like 2 years to walk where as most animals walk within the hour they're born. We don't have claws or dagger like teeth. Let's be honest, our sorry asses wouldn't last without technology.

After finally ending my little schpele, I felt my mind go black. My eyes blinked more and more slowly, then, blackness

Groggily I sat up and glared at my alarm on the other side of my room. My gaze only intensified as the loud blaring tone's volume increased. If only I could turn it off by using my mind. Maybe, I thought to myself, if I concentrate... Closing my eyes I began to concentrate

I jumped out of bed, cursing as I landed on an extension cord end. I screamed out at collapsed onto my hands and knees. Slowly crawling across the floor, I made it to my alarm and pulled it out of the wall before throwing it somewhere behind me. I continued my journey to the closet while my foot throbbed relentlessly. When I finally made it to the wonderland of clothes I leaned against the wall and held my poor foot. After my moment of silence I stood and was ready for school within minutes. I quickly checked my phone and saw I was late. Soon I had my wallet in hand and was out the door.

"Late." The attendance lady growled. If she was probably in her early 30's and if she wasn't such a grouch, we could probably be friends ;).

"Ma'am I was on my way when my dad fell down the steps... He's broken his leg and needed to be driven to the hospital." I told her with a sad frown.

"Mmhmm is this the dad who broke his ankle, collar bone and wrist? Or the one that was drowned and needed cpr?" She asked snarkily.

"Cpr." I returned, "ma'am I know my family is dysfunctional but at least I'm not cheating on the principal with the janitor, lunch aid, and several teachers." I sighed. Her face instantly froze as her eyes widened.

"Of course Miss Adams, I'm sure you're tardiness will not be reported, sometimes minor offenses just need to be kept a secret, yes?" She said almost pleadingly. Ignoring her request I took the pass and went to class.
