The doorbell rang through the house as Richie pressed it and waited outside. Damn it was cold. Like REALLY cold. He looked around at the neighborhood while waiting for someone to open the door. A nice blanket of snow covered everything, as it was faintly illuminated by the Christmas lights on people's roofs. It wasn't a super thick blanket of snow, but thick enough for the dark-haired boy to get a handful of it, make it into a nice, round snowball and throw it at Eddie's face as he screams at him, looking as threatening as an angry chihuahua- He chuckled at the memory. How cute Eddie looked... Until of course, he returned the throw, resolving into a snowball fight, making other Losers join too. ...And being late for school. Ah yes, good times.
Now, later in the evening, everything looked like it had a dark blue filter over it, and there weren't many passing cars. It was so still and quiet... It was peaceful, but at the same time, Richie felt like he was the last living person on this planet, which made him feel a little lonely...The doorknob finally rattled. He turned around just in time to see the door open, with the most gorgeous boy he had ever seen standing there.
"Hey, Rich!" He greeted him with a wide smile. Richie couldn't help but stare in awe. He was wearing shorts, as usual... A bit strange for the wintertime, but he assumed that it was really warm in the house. But on the other hand, he wore a big, dark sweater, which almost made it look like he wore no shorts at all. And that just made Richie feel all sorts of things. Combine it with his handsome face, eyes he could get lost in, the freckles scattered all over his face, and his adorable smile... He could melt like ice cream on a hot sunny day. He hoped he didn't turn red... and if he did, that Eddie either wouldn't notice or assume it's from the cold weather. He finally forced himself to snap out of admiring this beauty and handed him a plate of cookies he brought. "I made these myself!" He smiled proudly. He sadly didn't have money to get a present for everyone in The Losers club, so he thought he could at least bring a nice little treat.
Eddie took it, looked at it, looked back at Richie, looked back at the cookies, back at him... "No way." He chuckled. "No way you made these by yourself. Come on, you can tell me, where'd you buy them?" And stepped aside to let him in. "That hurts my feelings Eds! I really did make them!" Richie said dramatically and stepped in. Just as he assumed, it was really warm in here. He began to take off his coat, scarf, gloves... "Sure you did." Eddie just rolled his eyes, as if he didn't believe a single word Richie said, and just went into the living room, Richie following him not so late after. It was a few days after Christmas, but Eddie's mom was gone for a couple of days, meaning Eddie was home alone. He didn't get this type of luxury often, so to celebrate he offered everyone could have a little get-together at his house to celebrate their own Christmas as a group and also turn it into a sleepover, which everyone happily agreed to.
There was already a pretty cozy atmosphere... Ben, Bev, Bill, and Stan were already here, sitting on the couch. "Hey, Richie!" They all greeted him with a warm smile. "You brought cookies?" Bev excitedly took one as soon as Eddie set them on the table. "Yeah, probably bought them at the random store on the corner." Eddie shot a glance at Richie, going to sit in his spot in one of the armchairs. "Hey, no! I made those myself. I dunno if they'll be good, but yay for trying." He laughed and set down his bag, to take out some presents. He set them under the tree for later. There were already quite a few of them. "Mm- they're amazing, Richie!" Beverly said with her mouth full. That made Richie smile a little. Whether she said it just to not hurt his feelings or they truly were good, he was glad. After some time and more talking, Mike has arrived. That meant everyone was finally here. "Everyone here? AlrrRight! Let's get this party started!" Richie exclaimed while Eddie shook his head and rolled his eyes. "Yeah. A real wild party we got going on." "Well, why not. Just put on some music and boom!" Richie got up from his spot on the couch, going over to the radio sitting on one of the cabinets. "Richie don't... It's really late for some loud-ass music." He sighed. Richie chuckled to himself and purposefully picked nice, slow music. He pressed play.
Being as graceful as he can be he walked over to Eddie and held out his hand, while the brown-haired boy looked at him like 'the fuck do you think you're doing.' "Excusez-moi, m' lady. May I have this dance?" He said mixing the two, terrible accents together. "Hahaha!" His angelic laugh echoed through Richie's head, making his heart skip a beat... "Yeah, no. With all due respect, sir, go intercourse yourself." Eddie said, trying to mimic the accent and failing miserably. "Ooo using fancy words on me I see~" Rich chuckled and without waiting for an answer grabbed Eddie's hand and dragged him a bit away from the armchair. "Get your lazy ass up! If you won't let me have this dance I will take it by force!" He smiled as Eddie rolled his eyes, but didn't fight back.
