It all started with a dream.

No, really, this entire series started with a very strange dream about a friend and me teaming up with a flame-throwing man to save our town from Darkness. It went from waking up that night, scrambling to write this dream down for my friend, to saying: "Hey, this might make a good story idea someday."

I wasn't even writing at that time. Hadn't in years. But the pandemic hit not long after, and later that year, I sat down to write what would become Vision. It went from spewing my first draft onto Wattpad over the course of two years to publishing the novel in 2023... and, now, it's becoming a video game.

The Keepers of Astraela is produced by GSE Studios, and has released today (September 25, 2024)!!!! So, without further ado...

|| WHAT IS THE GAME ABOUT? ||

The Keepers of Asteaela follows the same premise as Vision: we have Eva, an author who finds out her books are real, getting sucked into the battle against Astraela's Darkness when Emrys saves her life. Depending on the choices you make, there's a chance you'll still see the exact same story play out with incredible visuals.

But the choices are the best part. While you could follow the original story down to the letter, there are many paths you can take that change the story entirely. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Eva refused to leave Havenwood? Or if Bobbi forced her way across the Barrier? Or if an angry goddess got a hold of our heroes first?

The story you know can shift at a moment's notice to become something brand-new that you've never seen before.

The visual novel is an otome that allows for multiple romance options! Emrys and Bobbi are romanceable characters in this narrative, but if you don't really want a romance-focused game, you can toggle that off to enjoy a dark fantasy adventure without romance! We've crafted this game to have something for everyone, and as a biromantic woman on the asexual spectrum, it's warmed my heart to have a game with so many options for players.

At release, we have 22 Steam achievements, 150,000+ words of story content, a male and female love interest, 11 character sprites, high-quality art from multiple incredibly talented artists, and 8 different endings!

|| WHERE CAN I FIND THE GAME? ||

Our game is available on Steam and Itch.io! We are currently working on releasing Bobbi's route in early 2025, and more patches will be coming with additional content! With all of this excitement, I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for the unending love and support you've shown Vision since I began the first draft in 2020. The past four years have been wild beyond anything I could've dreamed. If you were to tell past Wrenna that today she would be typing out a message to thank everyone while a literal visual novel game is being released, I wouldn't have believed you.

But this is real. And it's the most fun I've ever had. I still pinch myself daily, and I cannot wait to share this experience with all of you.
