DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
For the sake of fun, I'll answer some myself in italics!__________
-Who was your favorite character? Why?
--My favorite character is Emrys. At first, he was meant to be the comic relief companion we all love, but as the story developed, he grew very close to my heart. Writing his character has been almost healing for me. I love my fire child with everything in me. He's the surprise we didn't think we wanted, but never knew just how much we needed.-Who was your least favorite character? Why?
--For the sake of spoilers, I will be answering this question in the comments. Read at your own risk if you've not finished the book.-If you could ask the writer (me) one question, what would it be?
--Why did I make this series so complicated, self? Why? Kidding.-If this book were to become a movie, who would you cast? (Can be any character, not just a main!)
--Look, I'm just saying... if Matt Mercer doesn't play Faeran someday, I will be highly disappointed.-What was your favorite moment?
--I have a lot, but there is one scene that always will stick out to me: the Squirrel Scene. It was one of those 2am "How do I get them out of this situation?" ideas that ended in Eva hitting the damn squirrel with a frying pan, them collectively setting the kitchen on fire, and Emrys hiding the squirrel's hideous body inside his hoodie.
When I first wrote it, I told my friends it was a throwaway scene. "It's funny, but it'll never last past the first draft." Then, I posted the chapter on Wattpad, and the response on it was overwhelming. Now, that scene will never leave. It's stuck with us forever.-You've just sat down for coffee (or your drink of choice) with any character. Who is it and why?
--It's a toss up between Mystia and Emrys. Except I think meeting with Mystia may be more of a nightly meet-up over a few glasses of Nectar. Emrys would be the one who snags you first thing in the morning with coffee and pleasant conversation. The two sides of a similar coin to bring me joy at the beginning and end of my day.-If you could visit one location from Vision, where would it be?
--The Sanctum. Once, my therapist asked me to envision a place where I would be at my calmest, and had me describe it to him. Sitting in the Sanctum's common room, with a glass of nectar, Skell curled up beside me, and a cracking hearth, I am at peace.-What three words would you use to describe Vision?
--Funny. Dark. Chaotic.
Hopefully.-If you could become any character, who would it be?
--Mystia. Eva states early in the novel that she believes she writes about Thana because she perfectly encapsulates everything Eva wants to be. For me, that character is Mystia. She's bold, sharp, witty, and stands up for herself and her friends in a way that not many dare mess with her.-You've just discovered a Guardian in your own town that leads straight to Astraela! What do you do?
--Run. Like. Hell. Or fly, if Emrys comes through.-If you could eliminate one character, who would they be?
--I'll leave this one to you all.-What is your favorite line/quote?
--"It must be wonderful."
"What?"
"To be so utterly stupid."-If you could change the ending of Vision, how would you do it?
--Perhaps this one is better left to you all as well. ;)__________
Thank you all again so much for reading---and for taking the time to answer even just one question! I love you all. This story wouldn't be where it is today without you... and I certainly wouldn't be having it published if it weren't for the love and support it has received. You have all helped me believe in myself.
Thank you.Much love,
Wrenna
