You And Me

Chapter 5

"JULES JULES WAKE UP ITS SATURDAY!!!" I shouted at my best friend who was still asleep on the couch. She woke up and said "hey, why are you yelling?", "because it's Saturday and I have my date today with Shane!" I said and that got her up. "omg we have to get you ready and prepared" she shouted and she pulled me by my arm up the steps to my room. We went inside and shut the door so I could get changed.
About a half hour later I was dressed, and Jules had done my hair and makeup, and now we were in her car driving to the park.
When we got to the park Jules parked the car and we scanned the park for any sign of Shane, but we couldn't find him, but then I saw him over by a tall tree by the lake. He was looking down at his phone, but when he glanced up our eyes met and he began walking over and my heart began beating really fast. When he reached the car I jumped out and he greeted me with a shy hello and I did the same. Jules pretended to pull out and leave but I saw her park her car at the far end of the parking lot and step out. I began walking with shane to the tree he had been waiting by before and when we reached it we sat down at a bench and he said "so, why did you want to meet me here" and I said "because I want to be friends". He looked at me with a weird look on his face before he said "well, I want to be more than friends" and that made my heart beat faster. I wanted to blurt out "I know you do, and I want to be more than friends too" but I didn't because that would defeat the whole purpose of our plan. Just as I was about to say something else I spotted Jules sitting at a nearby bench and she had a magazine covering her face and sunglasses on. She peered over the edge of the magazine and mouthed "say you like him too" I gave her a confused expression, but then I said "shane, I like you too" and he looked up "really" he said happily, and I nodded. There was an awkward silence, but then he said "well, I'm glad you changed you're mind" and I laughed he was awesome!
For the rest of the date, we talked about a bunch of stuff, and I told him about the whole plan and he laughed and said "well, it worked!" And I laughed.
After the date was over, I got in the car with Jules and she said "so, how did it go?" And I told her me and shane were officially a couple and she squealed with delight "oh, I'm so happy for you!" She said and I said thanks.
When we got back to my house Jules decided she was going to go home, and I walked into my house. When I walked into my house the smell of a really good homemade dinner filled my nose, and I knew that meant we were having guests, because my mother never cooked a meal herself unless she had to impress someone important. I walked into the kitchen and when my mom saw me she said "oh, Jules honey, I'm so glad you're home, we're having guests over tonight". I asked her was coming over and when she told me my jaw dropped...
