First day

It was the last day of summer for the teens of East Highland High School and it had been a pretty interesting one, Maddy and Nate had been on and off all summer basically nobody knew if they were dating or arguing, Cassie had met a college boy at a party his name was McKay and they seemed to be in love whatever that meant at this age, Rue took a really bad overdose and nobody knew if she would actually make it at all but she went to rehab and people were just waiting to hear how she was especially her best friends Fez and Lexie Also two new kids had came to town Jules being the first girl and Scarlet was second. Jules had moved to town a week before Scarlet did and had already met Nate Jacobs let's just say he wasn't the nicest to her he made her fall of her bike and just made her really uncomfortable, it wasn't long before Scarlet and Jules would meet as it was a small town and everyone had the same places to hang or the same drug dealer, Jules was super nice to Scarlet and Scarlet made note to remember the girls kindness.
After some shopping and giving out each others socials Jules and Scarlet said goodbye and went separate ways Scarlet just assumed Jules went home but scarlet had other ideas for her self this included some weed she wanted to calm her nerves before school tomorrow that's when she met Fez he was super nice and even gave her it for half price as a welcome to the town gift Scarlet quickly hid the weed in her bra as she knew her mother couldn't see it as she was supposed to be staying clean in the new town. When Scarlet got home she noticed a tall boy coming out of her neighbours house he looked to be arguing with someone and that someone seemed to be his girlfriend she tired to look away but was super entertained by the argument so watched a little before tall boy turned around and shouted at her "who the fuck are you and what the fuck are you looking at" Scarlet was definitely caught off guard by his tone and words "eh I'm Scarlet I'm new to town Who the fuck are you and why are you talking to me like im a trash can" scarlet had always been a bitch when she needed to be and knew no one spoke back to the boy like that "I'm Nate Jacobs and you seemed to be interested in me and my now ex girlfriends fight find me attractive" the boy said with a sly smirk on his face "you wish" Scarlet snapped back at Nate "Well Scarlet I'm guessing your new to town I'm having a party at my house this Friday I hope to see you there send me your number so I can send you the details" Scarlet told Nate her number and quickly got a text about the party she then watched Nate drive away without even a goodbye well he seems nice Scarlet thought to herself rolling her eyes. Scarlet walked into the house and noticed it was empty her mom was at work Just as she liked it she quickly went up to her room unpacking quickly and putting away stuff so her mom would think she was tied because of moving and not because of the weed she was about to smoke, Scarlet used the grinder on her weed and quickly made 4 joints stashing the other 3 away in the place she hoped her mother wouldn't look she sat on the roof outside her window and finished the blunt she decided to go straight to sleep knowing she could shower and clean herself up in the morning it was better that way her mom never cared to wake her up or question why she was sleeping so early Scarlet crawled into bed and put the covers over her snuggling into her pillows and blankets before quickly falling asleep.
The next morning scarlet was woken up by her 6am alarm she groaned as she woke up and turned it off knowing her mom had set it "ugh it's so early" she moaned before going to the bathroom brushing her teeth and turning on the shower letting the warm water touch her cold hand she quickly finished brushing her teeth before stepping in the warm shower Scarlet always loved morning showers especially when she was cold and still tired when Scarlet got out the shower she turned it off and plugged in her blow dryer drying her hair her body was was finally dry after this so she grabbed a pair of baggy ripped jeans a black crop top and an oversized black Nike zip up sweater she applied a smoky black eye with big cat eyed eyeliner she finished the rest of the makeup off and kept it natural before straighten her hair and throwing one some socks and her doc martens, Scarlet got downstairs and welcomed her mom home from work Scarlets mom Elizabeth was a doctor so she was hardly ever home she hugged her mom and grabbed a glass of apple juice chugging it before leaving the house and grabbing some water for school she got three bottles she put two in her school bag and gave one to Jules after picking her up. "You ready for the first day" Jules asked kinda excitedly "yeah I think I am" Scarlet kinda lied she hated school but maybe this time would be different the day actually went by fast and at lunch Scarlet met some kid called Lexie and that girl rue the one who was talk of the school because of an overdose and rehab she brought Jules with her to meet the girls and they all hit it off talking about different bands they all liked and movies that's when she saw Nate again wow she thought to herself he's actually kind of hot Scarlets thoughts were interrupted by first the same girl from yesterday kissing him and holding onto his arm like he was pray and second Lexie "wow look who's back on again weren't they literally enemies yesterday" Lexie laughed slightly in disbelief "that girls my neighbour" Scarlet decided to talk "I saw them arguing yesterday and heard him
Call her ex girlfriend" Scarlet looked down why did she feel like this she's literally met him once and it was a party invite Scarlet grabbed her bag "I'm going to get some fresh air" Scarlet smiled at the girls grabbing a blunt from her collection that's when she heard the familiar voice of Nate Jacobs "hey again" he said nicely "hey" she said back looking him up and down "I thought she was your ex girlfriend" Nate looked down " well she was until last night she didn't want to have our first day back be apart so we decided to try again" Scarlet nodded slightly and took another two hits before offering some to the boy who happily took it "listen" Scarlet said smiling slightly "I'm the last person to judge anyone and if you two are happy that's cool I guess" Nate put out that half smoked blunt and passed it back to her "well this was fun but the bells about ring and I've got English at the third floor so talk later" and just like that he left Scarlet still felt strange around him but she quickly put her stuff away grabbing two pieces of chewing gum and spraying her self with some perfume she had music next and that was her favourite class to attend high the bell rung and Scarlet quickly ran to class just making it on time.
