Hi so-
This was kinda just a small filler chapter, it's gonna get more interesting in the next one lmao-
But with that being said, onward!

~~

You woke up to a pitch black setting. A void dark, no warm furniture or couch to be seen. Everything was quiet and cold. Except the figure. Standing in front of you, was a tall, well-dressed demon. Its suit shone a dark, dark grey, with white outlining it's shirt and cuffs. It's golden yellow hair and lemony skin also seemed to have a shine to it, a beautiful contrast from the unforgiving black. Seeming to just have noticed you, the figure picked you up, showing a manner of perfectly straight, sharp teeth. Realization dawning on you, you started to squeal in glee. It was the lemon man! The man chuckled in a voice that resembled the Lemon Demon's, but much more echoed.  "Hello, my child." he said, pulling you close. You were literally shaking in pure joy from being in his presence, but why was it so dark? "I had found a way to communicate with you through sleep, hence why it is so dark. We are currently in your mind space." He whispered that last line to you playfully and smiled, as if it was a secret only you two could know. "You're- not much of a dreamer I presume?" He said, looking around the empty, black room.

You shook your head, smiling, but still trying to comprehend the situation. The Lemon Man was here, but he wasn't here in real life? How did he know when you feel asleep? Was this a second Lemon Man you were talking to, and the real Lemon Man was still in the forest- or worse- captured!? Reading your mind, and your frantic face, he spoke again, regaining his poised composure. "I am in a safe place, if that's what you were wondering, and the spell I have set has currently put me in a comatose state, so I can talk to you through your sleep, possibly detecting your location." After noticing your puzzled look, the Lemon Man took a moment to rephrase his words. "I had found out a spell that makes me able to talk to you while both of us are sleeping. This way, I can use your essence to find you." Ooooh. That made much more sense. You still didn't know what he meant by essence, but that didn't matter much right now. The Lemon Man was going to find you, and even though you didn't have a mom anymore, you would have a dad! He could wash your face with a soft wash cloth, and do your hair, hang your drawings on a fridge...

"However, it may take a while, so I advise you to be patient and lay low. It would also be a good idea to hide your distinct features while you're in public. Like I said, not many people take kindly to people like you." He said, the same serious voice you heard in the mansion, but rid of all the panic. You nodded, not being entirely sure how you would be able to hide your wings, ears, and tail. And you were starting to wonder what he meant by other people. He pat your head, giving you a small smile that pulled you out of your thoughts. "Here, let me show you something." He said, sitting down on the ground, then sitting you down after. "I want you to close your eyes, and think about what you would look like as a normal person. And if try hard enough, you may be able to hide your form." You nodded, then shut your eyes tightly. Your hands balled up in your lap, you thought really hard about what you would look like without your stubby, fluffy ears, long, puffy tail, or smooth, feathered dragon wings. And sure enough, when you opened your eyes, they were no longer there.

You were slightly disappointed that you didn't look as magical as you felt, but all that went away when the Lemon Man pat your head, delighted with how quick you catch on. "Very good...I never really had the time to learn your name, did I?" You shook your head. The Lemon Man smiled softly, sitting you back on his lap.(Not in a weird way shut up-) "Well, how about you tell me your name then?" He curiously asked. You whisper-spoke, struggling to raise your tempo to at least an indoor voice. "Y/N." You said, your quiet vocals echoing through the empty room. The lemon man nodded ruffling your hair. "That's a very pretty name for a very pretty little girl." You giggled, hiding your face in your hands playfully. He chuckled, pulling your hands away, that same whimsical look he had on his face back when he saw your enthusiasm for the potion. "My name is Lemon Demon, but you can call me whatever you'd like." "Lemon Man!" You blurted out, which took him aback for a moment, but he was grinning again, rubbing his chin to look deep in thought.

"Lemon Man...- I like it!" He laughed, which made you giggle a little. All this playfulness almost made you forget about the question you wanted to ask him. But just as you went to speak, Lemon Man- er- Demon- set you off his lap, getting up and dusting himself off. You reached out for him in desperation, wanting to be with him for just a bit longer. Lemon Demon looked back at you and sighed, his eyes full of sadness. "I am sorry my child, but I must not waste what little energy I have left. I have to go."  "W-wait!" you whisper-yelled, the loudest you've ever talked in a while. Lemon Demon stopped in his tracks, turning his head to you. "C-can..." "Will we get to spend time together..when you find me...?" He stood there for a moment, then walked back to you, bent down, and pulled you into a hug, which you happily returned. "We will spend all the time in the world together, sweetie. I promise." After a few more seconds, he pulled away, then started walking the opposite direction while waving, seeming to melt into the darkness. You waved back, then stopped when he disappeared, smiling to yourself while playing with your feet.

You loved that Lemon Man.
