My first request! We're pretending that Gabbie basically didn't exist in this one(no hate, I love Gabbie but it's for the sake of the story), and basically Y/N has taken her place. Lav's still in this one though(obviously).

@hrtbrkniall - thanks for your support and for being my first  requester :)

I pulled my bag over my shoulder, locking my car and walking toward the elevator. I pressed the button for the 7th floor and waited, leaning against the wall of the elevator car. My day had been exhausting, full of demanding people and on top of it all, the coffee machine in the break room was out of order. It was all I could do to not fall asleep right then and there, but I stayed awake because I had been looking forward all day to coming home.

The elevator opened and I stepped out, walking down the hallway and fumbling with my keys in the door to my apartment.

"Look who's home!" My boyfriend Jack cooed as he ran to the door, holding our daughter, Lavender like an airplane. She squealed happily as Jack placed her in my arms. I pulled her to my chest tightly and she clung to my shirt.

"Mama!"

"Someone missed me today," I smiled tiredly at Jack.

"Definitely. Oh, and I guess Lav missed you too." He winked at me and I kissed him quickly on the cheek.

I looked over at the kitchen and sighed tiredly, preparing to hand Lav back to Jack.

"Dinner's in the oven." Jack follows my movements with his eyes, but he already knew what I was thinking about.

I relaxed, grateful for the weight lifted off my shoulders. "Thank you."

Jack led me over to the couch and I laid down with my head in his lap, Lavender resting on my chest. She yawned and closed her eyes.

"Did she nap?"

Jack laughed, a good natured bitterness to his voice. "Nope. She was crying for you the whole time and so I gave up. Apparently I'm not enough for her." He smiled after that, twirling a lock of my hair around his hand. "Tough day at work?"

Of course he knew. Jack and I had been together since we were barely teenagers, and with that bond came a sort of telepathy. I sighed heavily and Lavender stirred slightly, burrowing into my arms. "Everyone was just so demanding. I got yelled at just for doing my job, and the person yelling was in my way, not the other way around as they claimed." I paused as he played with my hair idly. "And the coffee machine broke. So everyone was more upset than usual."

"I'm sorry babe, that sucks." Jack pouted at me, and I smiled. He could always make me smile, no matter what I was going through. That's one of the many things I loved about him. He gestured to Lav. "It looks like you could use a nap too..."

I chuckled softly, trying not to wake up Lavender. Something I'd realized about children is that when they don't get enough sleep, they're not the same adorable person they are when they're well rested. "I guess..."

"Just fall asleep here. I'll take care of dinner and wake you up when it's ready, okay?" Jack had really adjusted well to being home full time. He was still able to record from the studio(Lav loved seeing her uncles), and being around our daughter all day was definitely a bonus. He stood up, grabbing a pillow and placing it under my head, then wrapping a blanket around me and our sleeping child.

Lav fidgeted in her sleep and I smiled, closing my eyes. I had missed time like this with her. Most days I loved my job, it gave me a sense of greater purpose, but after I had Lavender, it got harder. My days became less about doing my job so that I could succeed within the company, and more a monotonous cycle of completing assignments so I could go home and be with my family. I leaned into the pillow more as a wave of exhaustion overtook me, and I allowed sleep to take over, the relief and relaxation instant.

I hope you enjoyed! I'm still active on this account and will respond to requests(or will try to, at least), but I'm currently working on a fanfiction. I'm posting the first few chapters tonight so stay tuned for that! Thank you to the 28 unique readers that I have!!!!! You guys have honestly made me so happy and have given me such confidence. Make sure to comment and vote!!

I might do a part two, because I didn't really finish the request... let me know if you want that!
