He didn't even bothered asking her to explain her side regarding with what he saw earlier..he just jumped into conclusion, treating her like this when in fact it should be her reacting like that.She wants to shout but whenever she asked herself if even a tiny bit did she have a right to do that, she didn't know what to say.She wants to hear from him what's her role in his life. Yes, actions are louder than words but sometimes those actions that we see isn't really it is . So she decided that tonight, she will asked and he, Richard Lim, will gave her answers whether he liked it or not.
He wants to cursed out loud for pete's sake, wants to punch the wall, maybe in that way he can calm down somehow but as long as he can still remember what he saw earlier, there is no chance in calming down his raging nerves. All this time he thought she liked him, hell honestly he even thought it's more than just liking him..he can feel it in the way she cared not just with him but with his children as well, the way she stared when she thought he isn't even looking, the way she softly called him Ser Chief...but maybe all those are just a part of his imaginations. He will not allow a young woman like her..like Maya Dela Rosa..to toy with his feelings.
There she is, infront of his office, though she convinced herself that she will ask for answer but seeing his expression, all the courage she mustered earlier has been flown with the wind. She can see he is hurt..though she believed that he is at fault she can't take it whenever he is looking like that ,it's as if the pain has been transfered to her. But if not now..when will she ask? When will they talk? So once again, gathering her courage, she knock at the door to get his attention.
"Ser Chief, pwede po ba kayong makausap?"
"If it's not important, then NO. I'm busy at the moment as you can see."
"Importante ito sa akin."
He didn't want confrontations right now, he is mad and there is a chance he will spit out words that he could regret later but seeing her adamant expression made him think that no matter what he says, she will not backed down.
"What it is?"
"Bakit bigla ka na lang tumahimik kanina? Kilala na kita kapag may isang bagay kang kinaiinisan, bigla ka na lang mananahimik."
"Its none of your business."
"None of my business? After all ng mga ipinakita at ipinadama mo sa akin, sasabihin mong none of my business?"
"Ipinakita? Ipinadama? I just treated you like how I treat the other helpers here. Its not my fault that you jump in to conclusion."
Shock was an understatement if she were to describe what she's feeling at the moment. How she wish everything she heard is just a big joke, or he is just playing a prank on her but seeing his face with a blank expression tells her it is not..his words is too far for a joke.
"So ganun po pala yun Ser Chief..ay mali Mr. Lim pala. Kung ganoon humihingi ako ng tawad kung nag isip ako na may mas malalim pang rason sa mga ipinapakita at ipinadadama nyo sa akin. Pasensya na kung nag assume ako ng sobra."
He can see she was close in crying but being Maya dela Rosa herself, he knows she will not allow him to have the satisfaction in seeing her cry. He should be rejoicing, because he finally save his ego from falling apart but why does it feel he just thrown away something precious in his life just now.
"I guess you should learn Ms.dela Rosa not too assume too much kasi mapapahiya ka, I guess let's just forget everything we talked about tonight para walang ilangan. I respect you as a nanny of Abby and grateful as well dahil sa mga nagawa mo for her."
Forget everything? How can he say those words so easily when she can see in the near future this scene will be haunting her forever. She didn't want his respect nor his gratitude. She don't care if they will call her "duwag" but she finally got her answer. There is no place for her in his life, and much more there will be no likely a place for her in his heart.
