I couldn't believe it. My Annabeth was gone. My Wise Girl was dead. No, I refused to believe it. But deep down, I knew it was true.

Flashback:

Annabeth, me, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, and Hazel were fighting Chaos and the Titans. Reyna, Nico, Hylla, Thalia, Clarisse, and more demigods were fighting the endless armies of monsters. I had hope and I thought, we're winning! But, bad luck always had to come. A storm of black and dust surrounded us. Suddenly, I couldn't see Frank or Hazel. I couldn't see Leo or Piper.
I saw Jason for a second then he disappeared. I could only see Annabeth, who was next to me, for some reason. There was a nasty scream in the distance. There were only 3 titans left. Crius, Themis, and Atlas. Crius fell, with a cry. I saw a sword, Jason's, and a dagger, Piper's, sticking out of his heart and throat. Soon, Themis was dead, from Hazel. Leo burned Themis's body. The monsters had reduced to around 50 or so. I ducked a few arrows, a hunter. I heard Thalia shout, "Sorry Percy!" I was thrown backward, into a tree, with so much force, I felt my ribs break. "Atlas..." I growled.

I drove Riptide right into his heart when he was leaning down, ready for a killing blow. He howled with pain, golden ichor spilling from his wound. Atlas fell. Then, I heard Annabeth's scream. I rushed over and the sight made my heart almost shatter. Annabeth stood there with a spear in her heart. And who stood over her? The one and only Chaos. I screamed with fury. The ocean exploded. I fought Chaos with newfound strength. Long story short: I won.

I went over to Annabeth and nearly threw up. Blood was everywhere over her chest. I cried, "Annabeth! Please don't go!" Annabeth said, weakly, "I'm so sorry Percy...I ca...n't d...on't do it... Her eyes begin to shut and she stuttered "Se...aw...ea...d br...a...in I l..o...ve y...ou. Her eyes closed. "ANNABETH! NOOOOO! PLEASE COME BACK!" I shouted with pain and sadness in my voice. Thalia came running over "Percy, what's wro-" her voice broke "Percy is that Annabeth?" "Yes, it is," I said between sobs.
