After what felt like forever, the train finally stopped. I look out the window to be blinded by the bright early morning. That was different. In books and movies the Hogwarts express would start in the AM and stop in the PM. I got on the train in the PM and was getting off in the AM.
I peeked at Ron's watch as he reached for his bag. It showed about 4:46. Explains the reason why I was still tired. So early for what.
"Follow me" exclaimed Hermione.
I picked up my two trunks, and started walking out the train.
Students talking in all types of accents. Girls brushing their hair and tidying up, boys shoving and pushing. First years confused as he!!
My first instinct was to check to spot someone I know. I looked around and just saw a bunch of students I had never seen. I walked past each compartment and slightly slide the door and checked inside. All I could see was a students in hundreds walking over one another. I knew all their names though. I looked at a brunette hair girl with a half up - half down hair style. "Yvette Marley Binge" I thought. I knew her name instantly. It was so weird that I didn't know a single person but, if I looked at them I instantly knew their name.
I had scripted I knew everyone's name.
I continued looking left and right while walking down the train to the exit looking to find someone I knew.
No one, not a single person I knew from the books or movies. Just the chosen one, the control freak book worm, and the red head with hand me down robes. I guess I would have to wait until we get to the great hall.
I jumped out of the train following Hermione to wherever she was leading me. Ron and Harry following me.
We dodged a bunch of first years, bumping and shoving them while trying to get on the other side of the students. When I finally saw what Hermione was leading us to, it was Hagrid.
"Yellow Lads!" said Hagrid in his loud booming voice.
"Morning Hagrid, I want you to meet Reya, she's a new student this year" said Hermione as if she was trying to make Hagrid proud.
"Ah yes, I know Miss Reya. How are you feeling on yer first day" Hagrid asked lightly punching me in the arm.
"You know her?" Ronald questioned with his usual confused face.
"Yeahhh" "You three scurry along now, I'll walk her to the hall"
He pushed them three away from me with his large hands. They looked back wording good luck and smiling while walking away and disappearing into the larger groups of students.
Hagrid and I started walking through the students shortly after he gave my luggage to a man in all red who stacked my trunks on top of 1000 others.
When I tell you there are a lot of students at Hogwarts, I mean a lot. I couldn't recognize anyone from the movies/books, I was looking everywhere.
After a while of walking and admiring everything that was around me. We finally arrived at Hogwarts.
I looked up at the huge castle, room windows lit, some dark. The castle was gorgeous. I stood in one spot admiring each and every view.
"We've got to go lad" Hagrid said pushing the first years in a single file line.
We finally got to the great hall entrance. I stood outside hand in hand with Hagrid right in front of all the first years who jumping up and down eager and nervous to go inside and get sorted. I was also one of the nervous ones.
We waited a couple minutes until McGonagall gave her infamous speech before the ceremony.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall.
