Respect

Natasha's POV

My hands and legs trembled as I stared at the wall. This was the only bathroom where I could get some sort of privacy. The ones upstairs were taken and I refused to use the bathroom after one of the guys. It always smells like someone died.

The label on the back of the Clearblue box said 'five to ten seconds'. Seems like those couple seconds take years. Pulling my jeans up to my waist-line, dread clouded by mind. Silently praying to God that my results would be something I'm prepared for. Bloated.

I grabbed the first stick off the counter: +.

I took a deep breath. I roll my eyes. There was always that one defective one.

Checking the next one, my heart practically skipped a few beats. Second result: +

Third was the same result as the first two.

Sorrow immediately took over my body as I cried silent tears. My son would have a brother or sister on the way, and yet, all I could think about was, what would he do? There was no way, come four to nine months, would I be able to hide a large belly. I stood in front of the mirror, looking at my tear-stained face.

A faint knock on the door made me sniffle. "Hey Nat? Vince is in the hallway bathroom. Dom and Letty are using theirs. I just need to see if my eyeliner is good." Mia's mirror was small and she always had to stretch over her dresser to get to the mirror, but the lighting in the room would never be enough. All the bright lights were only in the bathrooms. Other rooms, like the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms had dim lights.

"Yeah, no, give me a second." With a twist of the knob, cold water came out the faucet. I lightly splashed water on my face, blinking multiple times to get rid of some of the partial redness in my eyes. I tucked the pregnancy tests in the back pocket of my purse. "Come in."

Mia opened the door and checked herself in the mirror. "Good. That looks good, right?" She turned her head, looking at me.

I wiped off the counter. "If I didn't know any better," I smirked, throwing the paper towel in the trash. "I'd say you're trying to impress someone tonight. Don't tell me you've been holding out on me, Mia." She rolled her eyes. "If you do, I won't tell Dom. Though, he might give you another lecture on guys at the scene."

"Oh, don't wear that, what if guys talk to you? Go change!" Mia mimicked her brother. Her soft voice trying to match Dom's gruff voice. I laughed. "Please, the only reason why he's on my ass so much is due to his guilt."

"He's your brother. But he always acts like he's somebody's daddy." I stretched my hair, making sure my ponytail was smooth. I decided to wear a long-sleeve shirt, exposing my neckline and a bit of my chest, along with blue jeans, with my gray boots that had heels. I had a necklace around my neck: Cancer. "How's the studying coming? You know I could help you."
