"Don't be rude. Talk to your friend," Mother said still staring at me. I was in a state of shock.

"You can see her?" I blurted out without thinking. Anger was visible in Father's eyes. I knew I had made my mistake.

"You still play with them don't you?" Gaither asked in a no nonsense tone. There was no use in lying to him.

"Yes Father," I replied meekly I'm an effort for him to let it go. He stood and walked over to me. Before I could comprehend what was going on he struck me across my face and I fell to the floor.

"I warned you if you keep playing with those things I was going to take you to an asylum. You've made your choice," he said picking up the telephone. I panicked.

"Daddy no. No. I promise I'll stop and you'll never hear of them again!" I pleaded for him grabbing at his ankles.

"You've made you're choice!" He shouted shaking violently in effort to get me to release him from my grip. I pleaded and heald on for dear life. I couldn't go to an asylum. They'd kill me.

"Sweetheart, perhaps we have misjudged the situation and we should just five her a chance," Mother said pulling father close to her. She appeared to kiss his cheek. Mother grabbed my hands and helped me to my feet.

"You should go to bed dear," Mother said caressing my face.

"He'll just call them in the night," I replied still scared for my life. She sat me down at the table.

"No he won't dear I promise you that," she said going into the kitchen to get drinks. She came back with three drinks. Father and mother drank theirs. I saw no reason not to drink mine.

"I promise sweety everything will be the way it's supposed to be in the morning," Mother said helping me up.

"Alright mother," I said not wishing to fight. I went to walk to my chambers and I felt dizzy. Mother brushed it off as excitement. I finally made it to my room. As soon as I touched the bed I was asleep unaware of what lie ahead.
