"Omki Shomki, are you ready?" Dolly Bua screamed from the living room as she looked at her watch. They were already running late, and this 'Khotheya' of hers was simply dilly-dallying around. "Omkara!" she yelled again, and Janhvi immediately rushed to her side, fearing that the older woman would puncture a lung if she kept yelling that way. "Bua Maa, don't strain yourself, please?" Janhvi pleaded with her, asking her to take a seat and wait patiently. "How can I not strain, Jaanu Puttar?" Dolly said looking at her in worry, "We were supposed to be at Arvind's house half an hour ago, and we're still here! He called twice, asking if we're actually coming over! How does it look if we're late?"
Looking upstairs, where Omkara had last disappeared into his room, Dolly muttered, "Iss Omki Shomki ke totte totte kar dene hain maine!" She switched back into her strong Punjabi accent from her desi-Canadian one. "Omkara ke liye ladki dekhne jaana hai, aur who khud kamre mein baithke saj raha hai! I know I asked him to look nice, but what is taking him so long?" she angrily said, pacing the hall. Then, making up her mind, she went upstairs, deciding to pull Omkara by his ear in whatever he was wearing, followed by a worried Janhvi rushing behind her.

"O, you cannot go!" Rudra said, making a crying face, causing him to roll his eyes yet again. "Rudy, I told you! I'm not going to say yes to the girl! I'm going only because Bua Maa is insisting. And if you're so much in love with Gauri, mere badle tu kyun nahi jaata rishta lekar?" Omkara frowned, looking at his younger brother who was behaving like a stubborn child at a candy store. As it is, Omkara was annoyed that his family was pressurizing him to get married and he was fed up with trying to convince them that 30 wasn't too to get married. Off recent, he had run out of excuses to postpone his plans of settling down, and so he had resorted to simply seeing the girls for his family's sake and then pointing out some silly thing about the girl so he could refuse. And now, when his Bua Maa literally blackmailed him emotionally, he had to give in.
Rudra glared at him at his stupid question, and then, annoyed at the fact that Omkara couldn't read his mind, he voiced it out saying, "How can I go? I'm still in college! I can't get married so early!" Rudra ran his fingers through his hair, as he tried calling up Gauri, who refused to answer his call. Frustrated, he threw his phone on the nearby couch.
"Then ask Gauri to wait for you!" He asked, irritated now, because he would literally hear Bua Maa screaming his name, asking him to hurry and come downstairs. Before Rudra could reply, there was a knock on the door. Rudra, who was leaning against the door, preventing Omkara from leaving, look one last time at his older brother in a plea and immediately opened the door. "How long will-" Bua Maa stormed in with a loud voice, but abruptly stopped when she saw Omkara setting his hair in a half-ponytail. "Haaye main marjaawaan!" Bua Maa exclaimed with a smile, waving her fingers around Omkara's head and warding off evil eyes from him, as she continued whiel forgetting all her anger, "Kinna sona lagda hai mera Omki puttar!" she said, squishing his face in her palms and pasting a kiss on his forehead. Then looking at Rudra, she said, "Rudy, aaj teri Bhabhi dekhne jaa rahe hain!" He gave her a fake grin of excitement, and as soon as she turned around, he pleaded Omkara with his hands folded, almost begging him.
